Yayoi Dojima is a character that appears in Yakuza/Yakuza Kiwami and Yakuza 2/Yakuza Kiwami 2, She is the wife of Sohei Dojima and the mother of Daigo Dojima. She served as interim president in the absence of the fifth president of the Tojo Clan.

Appearance[]

Yayoi looks so youthful that it's hard to believe she's in her late 40s. She has the appearance of a traditional Japanese woman wearing a kimono and having a Shimada hairstyle. She is fair-skinned and has a beautiful mark under her lip. In some cases, she is seen brandishing her sword.

Yayoi is always seen wearing a purple kimono under her white half-collar, white tabi and black zori sandals. Her kimono is dark purple with a gold back collar and a flower pattern near her hem. She also wears an obi embroidered with patterns from ancient capitals, a gold obiage, and a gold obijime.

Personality[]

As the interim president of the Tojo Clan, she has considerable power to lead the Tojo Clan against the threat of war from the Omi Alliance and the grudges of the Jingweon Mafia. She was an extremely loyal wife to the late Dojima patriarch, and at one point even came into conflict with the legendary Kiryu himself, who was plotting revenge on Souhei, but ultimately relented. Her loyalty to her husband is also revealed when Koji Shindo points out that Dojima has many mistresses, to which Yayoi replies that he admits it is true, but she was always loyal to him.

Background[]

Yayoi gave birth to her son Daigo when she was around 19 years old, but it is unknown whether she married Sohei Dojima before or after Daigo's birth. Although Sohei frequently cheated on Yayoi and she was aware of this fact, she still loved and was loyal to him. In the 1980s, she played a key role in the rapid rise of the Dojima family, supporting her among the ranks of the Tojo Clan.
