Watatsuki no Toyohime is one of the heroes of the Touhou Project series. She's the elder sister of Watatsuki no Yorihime and one of the former students of Eirin Yagokoro.
Appearance[]
Toyohime has a long, flowing sandy blonde hair and golden eyes. When she goes out, she wears a navy blue dress with straps on the left side over a white long-sleeved blouse, a loose belt with a gold mirror buckle, and a white bonnet with a red bow. ZUN seems to have given Aki*Eda a vague description of her weapon, and she said that drawing Toyohime with her autographed folding fan was almost improvised.
Personality[]
Toyohime has a calm personality and looks innocent, but she possesses great power. She leads a mostly carefree lifestyle, reading books, singing songs, and eating peaches that grow on the moon, but she doesn't exercise much. She is in charge of managing the messenger rabbits, but because she doesn't take much care, she often accompanies Yorihime to raise the moon rabbits. Reisen sometimes secretly presents peaches to the rabbits, but she says she has never seen her behave harshly as her little sister.

Manipulate The Boundary Between Scientific And Fantasy Moons[]
This allows Toyohime to maintain the barrier that protects the moon. She also sent to the airless science side to kill one of Yukari's crow shikigami.
Connecting "Sea And Mountains"[]
The description of this ability seems pretty specific, but it probably allows Toyohime to go "wherever she wants". Since the moon is the "sea" and Gensokyo is the "mountain", she sent Eirin a letter and threw a stone at the earth so that she could instantly transport herself and her Reisen to Gensokyo. Therefore, Toyohime, along with Yukari, is one of the few characters who can freely travel between the Earth and the Moon.

After receiving an invasion warning from Eirin Yagokoro, she arrests Yukari Yakumo and Ran Yakumo, who attempted her second invasion of the moon.
Cage in Lunatic Runagate[]
Toyohime and Yorihime, reflecting on unsubstantiated rumors that an invasion of Earth is imminent, briefly discuss events 1500 years ago involving Eirin and Kaguya's descent to Earth. Also, how Eirin is the person behind an old Japanese fable about Taro Urashima, the Dragon King's Palace is not in water but on the moon, and how Toyohime came to give refuge to the story's protagonist. It also reveals how Eirin is that person. Arranging his return, he was later deified.
