It was discussed last week how it's become necessary to look at getting the wiki adopted. It's also apparent that the edit war that's prompting this is not going to stop.
At the heart of it is one person's attempt to force their beliefs on others and a majority of the edits being made involve the edit war. The behavior of the person in question has long since become harassment and violates the Terms of Use. I've discussed this further in the blog entitled "When headcanon backfires".
Others have made more edits here than I have, but I first came here the earliest of the ten people who have edited in the past two months and I might be in the best position to go ahead with adopting this wiki.
So I am. This is my official announcement that I will be putting in a request to adopt the wiki. I've got some ideas about what we can work on and I'd appreciate comments on those and any other ideas about what to improve here.
Due to the behavior of the person at the heart of the edit war, I expect that the messages I leave for those ten active users to notify them about this announcement will be removed by that person. I am also expecting that the public notice I put on the main page will be removed by that person. Attempting to interfere with the adoption process is pretty much guaranteed.
I will reinstate the messages as much as I can and I apologize ahead of time if those ten people keep getting alerted that they have a new message but don't see anything when they get there. It's one of the drawbacks of the User Talk pages.
However, the good news is if there is any interference with matters of official wiki business, I can put in a request to have the person causing the interference blocked. This adoption notice qualifies as official wiki business.
It's customary to give at least a week's notice and I need about a week to put some serious effort into sprucing the wiki up. Let's set the deadline for comments through Monday evening, January 7, 2019. Leave comments below.
