Tsuzura Hanatemari is the female deuteragonist of Kakeguri Twin. Although Tsuzura was born into a wealthy family, she is not good at gambling and is quickly taken in by her owner. Fortunately, thanks to Mary Saotome, whom she has known since elementary school, she learned about gambling and began to believe in herself.
Appearance[]
Tsuzura has long dark blue wavy hair with bangs and light blue eyes.
She wears a standard female uniform issued by Hyakkao Private Academy. She wears a red blazer with black trim on the cuffs and collar, a white button-up dress shirt with a black string tie, a dark pleated skirt and dark stockings, and a school-issued uniform. Her footwear is brown loafers and black soles. Tsuzura also wears a pink flower headband.
Personality[]
Tsuzura-san is a very kind and polite person. Despite this, Mary Saotome was jealous of Tsuzura's wealthy background, so she never liked her. Tsuzura-chan is usually bright and optimistic, but since she was kept at home for a while, she has become timid and shy. Although she has allowed Tsuzura to be very wealthy and free, she believes that due to her lack of self-confidence and her poor gambling skills, she will soon become her owner again.
She was very generous and quickly loaned Mary money for her first gambling match. As her own claims, she believed her gambling skills to be mediocre. However, as her story progresses, she gains confidence in her own skills, thanks to which she befriends Mary and Yukimi Togakushi. She also has a strong admiration for Mary and is inspired by her Mary. In one scene, she even names Mary "her prince."
Tsuzura is also shown to be very innocent and naive. At the coupling party, she didn't understand the meaning of "spending the night together" and thought it was just a sleepover. When Yukimi explained her true meaning to Tsuzura, she blushed furiously and became embarrassed.
History[]
Tsuzura happily greets Mary at the school gate. After explaining the general rules and traditions within the school, he warns Mary to be careful, as transfer students are not used to gambling and are often targeted by other students. Their conversation is interrupted by Kokoro Aiura introducing himself to Mary and proposing her marriage. She asks why Mary can't talk to Tsuzura, and Kokoro explains that it's against the rules, pointing out that Tsuzura is her house pet and has no human rights. Kokoro then pours water on Tsuzura's head and forces her to leave her classroom during her match with Mary. Later, when Mary lost to Kokoro, Tsuzura offered her money for a rematch so that Mary would not become her owner either.
After winning the rematch, Tsuzura and Mary become friends. Tsuzura sees Mary as her "prince". She also sympathizes with Mary. So they looked for a gambling house to take over and get more money. The one they chose was the least popular one, currently owned by Yukimi Togakushi. However, before they can talk about it, Sachiko Juraku enters and declares that the burrow will be shut down for good. However, Mary asks for a gamble, which surprises Tsuzura. Mary eventually wins, and she and Yukimi dress up as maids and host a gambling session. Aoi Mibuomi comes over wanting to play a game, and Tsuzura is worried. But Aoi just wanted to get in touch with Mary.
During the events of her coupling party, Mary suspects that Tsuzura has betrayed her, and she initially excludes her from the group. Although Tsuzura is devastated, she still trusts Mary and continues gambling, believing that Mary will always find a way to win, even if she is unaware of the group's strategy. After the match, Mary apologizes to Tsuzura and Yukimi that she didn't trust them all along. Tsuzura immediately hugs Mary and she starts crying as she says that she is sorry for always bothering her. She was relieved that Mary had not abandoned her.
When Mary arrived, Tsuzura was already waiting with Aoi. So Aoi introduces Mary to the Zenshokai. When Mary initially refuses, Aoi reminds Mary that she can help domestic cats like Tsuzura. Tsuzura feels that she shouldn't trust Aoi. Later, while she was on a treasure hunt with Sakura Miharutaki, Tsuzura helped them and solved one of the mysteries. Tsuzura then helps Mary by hiding her real breasts and preparing fake breasts for Sakura. Tsuzura then hurried to retrieve the fake treasure chest and returned just in time. Mary was truly grateful. Tsuzura is shocked to see how cold Aoi is towards Sakura.
Later, when Tsuzura is in the library with Mary, she is accosted by Ouri Shimotsukiuri. Later, as the class game is set up, Tsuzura hears that Kokoro plans to make Mary a victim of bullying. However, Tsuzura cannot say anything to Merry because Tsuzura is the house pet and must follow her orders. During the game, Tsuzura feels sorry for Mary and eventually tells Mary to watch out for her and cheers for her. When Mary sees through Kokoro's plan and turns her against her, Tsuzura is very happy for Mary. Later, she meets Sachiko in the hallway who wants to gamble with Mary. When she is threatened with Mary becoming her owner, Tsuzura takes pity on Mary and wants to offer her money. She refuses because Mary wants to solve her problem on her own. Tsuzura is worried about this, but at the same time she begins to admire Mary.
Kurumi Kurume wants to join their den, and Tsuzura immediately takes a liking to her. During the school festival, Tsuzuku is approached by Eneru Rokujo. Eneru becomes interested in Tsuzura and likes her appearance, so Eneru challenges Tsuzura to a game. The game they played was that they had to take pictures of other people without being taken themselves. Tsuzura was embarrassed at first, but she regained her confidence, believing that Mary would be the same way. Tsuzura ultimately defeats Eneru. She is then seen attending the Zenshokai meeting with Yukimi and the others.
Kakegurui - Compulsive Gambler[]
It seems that Tsuzura is no longer at the academy. Before her departure, Tsuzura gave Mary her flower hairpin to remind her of Mary. After Mary met Kirari, she was thinking about how much she despised the house pet system. Mary clutches a hairpin and she remembers Tsuzura and she misses her. What happened to Tsuzura must have something to do with Kirari, and Mary is furious.
