Tony Soprano is the main protagonist of The Soprano's. He grew up in Newark with his sisters Barbara and Janice being raised by Mob capo Johnny Soprano and his psychologically abusive wife Livia. Tony suffered terrible physical and psychological abuse at the hands of his parents. Tony also thought Janice was his father's favorite as Johnny used her to attend meetings with his criminal associates at amusement parks. Tony attended school With Artie Bucco and Davey Scatino who he remained friends with much later in life. In high school Tony met his future bride Carmela DeAngelis. After a semester and a half of university Tony dropped out to pursue a life of crime with his friends Silvio Dante, Jackie Aprile and Ralph Cifartetto. Tony worked with Jackie and Silvio to rob the card game of Feech La Manna Which put them on the fast track to being made. Prior to this Tony had plotted a high-jacking with His cousin Tony Blundetto but failed to show up due to a panic attack caused by an argument With Livia though he claimed he was assaulted by black men. Blundetto's subsequent incarceration caused massive feelings of responsibility in Tony toward his cousin. Tony made his bones in 1983 by killing smalltime bookie Willie Overall in his father's orders. Through his career in the mob Tony also formed close friendships with Johnny's crew members Big Pussy Bonphenseiro and Paulie Gualtieri. By 1998 Tony and Carmela had two Children AJ and Meadow though the marriage has it's problems due to Tony's infidelity they both cared deeply for their children and Tony Was adamant his son not join the mob.in addition Tony had began training Carmela,s cousin and son of his close friend Dickie Moltisanti, Christopher in the family business. Jackie had become boss and started entrusting Tony with more important tasks after being diagnosed with Cancer. This earned Tony the resentment of his uncle Junior with who he had previously been close. Tony suffered a panic attack brought on by the stress of his work, in addition to his attempts to care for Livia and began therapy with Jennifer Melfi. Around this time he learned Junior planned to Kill Pussy Malanga at Artie's restaurant Vesuvio and became worried a hit at the establishment would permanently drive customers away. In order to avoid this Tony had Silvio Detonate an explosion at Vesuvio in the hopes Artie could claim the insurance, which angered his uncle in the process. After a fire in Livia's kitchen caused by her inability to pay attention, Tony hired a Trinidadian nurse to take care of her, only for Livia to drive her away with her racism. Following this Tony placed his mother in Green Grove Retirement Community, adding to the feelings of resentment his mother felt toward him, Tony assaulted Bada Bing barman Georgia Santoreli when his incompetence at working the telephone reminded him of his mother. Tony's problems with Junior continued as he had Brendan Filone killed after Filone and Christopher had highjacked trucks he was hired to protect. Christopher wants to Kill Brendan's killer Mikey Palmice, but Tony forbid him doing it as Mikey was a made man. He then assaulted Mikey and stapled through his chest with a staple gun. As Jackie had died by this point Tony found a way to placate his uncle by making him boss, however the support of the the other capos allowed Tony to control the organization without worrying about federal investigations. While taking Meadow out to visit colleges Tony saw FBI informant Febby Petrulio, who he murdered. On Livia's suggestion Junior chose to tax Tony's friend Hesh Rabkin out of spite. Tony allied with New York Underboss Johnny Sack to present a disingenuous proposition for Junior to accept. Tony persuaded his uncle to share his wealth more evenly among the capos which allowed him to personally return his share to Hesh. When their daughter's soccer coach Don Hauser announced plans to leave, both Tony and Silvio were outraged and tried to intimidate him into staying. Tony discovered from Meadow that Hauser had slept with one of his students: Ally Vandermeed. Tony  tasked Silvio with eliminating Hauser, but after conversations with Melfi and Artie Tony realized Hauser's death would only make things worse for Ally and everyone involved, deciding to cancel the hit he came home to drunkenly brag that "I didn't hurt nobody". Tony was told by his police contact Vin Makazian that Pussy was a rat, through the conversation Tony repeatedly taunted Makazian and was unsympathetic when Makazian brought up his father used to abuse his mother. Tony was skeptical that Pussy would betray him and instructed Paulie to investigate, stipulating that a hit could only be performed if Paulie  Saw a wire. Paulie's method of doing this by taking Pussy to a bath house and trying to make him take his clothes off lacked subtlety and drove Pussy into hiding. Tony saw on the news that Makazian had killed himself and was later horrified when he learned Makazian considered him a friend despite the abuse levied at him seeming to relate to Makazian's feelings of depression. Junior was angered by Tony seeking psychiatric help and continued disrespect toward him, after learning from Livia that his nephew had been conducting meetings behind his back Junior worked with Mikey to organize a hit on Tony, leading to Tony's hospitalization. He was approached by agent Dwight Harris who tried to turn him into an informant, but Tony refused to give up his life of luxury. When Melfi brought up the possibility of Livia's involvement in the attempted assassination, Tony became furious and threatened her after smashing her glass table. After the FBi showed him tapes of his mother and uncle discussing the hit he apologized to Melfi and advised her to flee from Junior's wrath. Tony and his guys ultimately took out most of his uncle's guys, but before a hit could be carried out on Junior he was arrested. Tony went to green grove with the intent to suffocate his mother, but was told by the staff that she had suffered a stroke. Tony than approached his mother who was lying on the stretcher and taunted her that she would have a short life, also assaulting a security guard for getting involved before storming out. When Pussy returned Tony was suspicious but allowed him to live as there was still no evidence of betrayal. Tony ordered the death of Philly Parsi, having him killed by Gigi Cestone as Philly had been gossiping about Tony's attempt to kill his mother. Tony met with Junior's soldier Bobby Baccalieri to tell him that Junior could keep the shylock business and the pipefitters union but everything else now belonged to Tony. While Visiting his Uncle Tony learned Green Grove owner Fred Capuano had been talking about the situation with his mother and arranged for Fred to be killed. Tony also pulled off a con by arranging for Reverend James Jr to stage protests against Jack Massarone's racist policies so Massarone would hire Tony to have his mob associates scare the protestors away. When Bobby called Tony to tell him that Junior had slipped in the shower Tony rushed over and carried his uncle to the hospital. Tony soon became embroiled in a conflict With Jackie's brother Richie Aprile who had assaulted Beansie Gaeta, a man who'd been supervising a drug operation for Tony and left Beansie crippled despite previous warnings from Tony not to do so. This was further complicated when Richie Rekindled his old relationship With Janice. Tony convinced Melfi to take him back as a patient. Tony was approached by Davey who was now a gambling addict and wanted to be allowed into one of Tony's games. Though initially resistant Tony ended up relenting, resulting in Davey becoming heavily on debt to him. Richie turned up attempting to assault Davey as he two was owed money. Tony could not afford to lose face by allowing one of his players to be harmed and sent Richie outside, punishing him by freezing his credit until Davey repaid his debt to Tony. Tony went to see Scatino at his store demanding payment and after Davey tried appealing to their friendship he was physically attacked by Tony. Davey also gave Tony his son Eric's car as a partial payment, which Tony then gave to Meadow, causing her to be angry as she was friends With Eric. Tony found this completely hypocritical as everything she had was gotten through illicit means. Tony assigned Silvio and Paulie the task of intimidating Richie into helping Beansie by sending his nephew Vito Spatafore to build a wheelchair accessible ramp. Richie had told Sean Gismonte and Matthew Bevilaqua that he disliked Chris due to his abuse toward his niece Adrianna La Cerva, leading them to attempt a hit on Chris, hoping to earn Richie's favor. Gismonte was killed, Bevilaqua managed to escape and Chris was put into a coma. Tony was deeply saddened and angered by what had been done to his protégé. Around this time Tony got into an argument with Carmela as she wanted him to have a vesectomy. When A.J. dropped some plates during their arguing Tony sarcastically asked "how can I when this is my male heir". Tony felt remorseful for the cruel remark and brought his son a pizza, apologizing and telling him he couldn't have had a better son. However as they were about to dive into the pizza Tony was called away by Pussy who had found Bevilaqua. Tony and Pussy beat Bevilaqua severely, taking him to a garage, feigning forgiveness before executing him. Possibly influenced by guilt over killing Bevilaqua Tony seemed more willing to get the vesectomy but was told by Carmela that she didn't want that, simply wanting her to be faithful to her. With the threat of being prosecuted for Bevilaqua's murder looming over his head Tony decided he'd spend more time with A.J., hoping to become closer with his son. Tony also gave a bag of money to his lawyer Neil Mink to be given to Carmela in the event of his incarceration. Tony's attempts to bond with his son were unsuccessful until he and A.J. capsized two men in a canoe. After an argument with Janice Tony became deeply ashamed and embarrassed over his much younger girlfriend Irina Peltsin and chose to break it off with her, insisting she deserved better than being his mistress. When Irina later attempted to kill herself Tony went to the hospital and consoled her, asking for Melfi to recommend a suitable therapist, when that didn't work Tony became increasingly annoyed over the situation. Junior and Richie planned to seize power from Tony but when Richie failed to gain Albert Barese's support Junior decided to warn Tony and falsely claimed to have played Richie the whole time. Junior's warning caused Tony to forgive his uncle for their prior conflicts and he expressed his gratitude by increasing Junior's percentage of his former business. Tony then planned with Silvio to have Richie murdered. Tony got a call from Janice after she shot Richie dead when he slapped her. When Tony arrived he had Chris and Furio Giunta dispose of Richie's body as well as defending his sister from his mother's insults. Tony also sent Silvio to give Irina a large sum of money, reasoning her to get out of his life in the hopes Carmela's anger over Tony's interest in her would settle down. After a dream in which a fish told Tony (in Pussy's voice) that he had betrayed him, Tony and Silvio then went to his house, having Silvio distract Pussy with conversation while he searched for a wire. Tony found it and proceeded by taking Pussy to a boat where Paulie was waiting for them. The three men then shot their old friend dead, killing him. Tony told his mother to leave the country and gave her two stolen airline tickets to do so, but she was detained at the airport, which created massive problems for Tony. When Tony vented over his mother in therapy Melfi sensed something else was bothering him but he refused to divulge his feelings of grief for Pussy to her. When Meadow brought her friend Noah Tannenbaum over Tony asked him about his background. After Noah revealed he was half black Tony hurled racial slurs at him and warned him to stay away from his daughter. Tony tried to reconcile with his mother, hoping he could stop her from testifying against him. When Livia later died of a stroke Tony admitted to Melfi he was relived before saying that made him a bad son and suggesting Livia didn't really want him dead. Later when watching Public Enemy, Tom Power's mothers love for him brought Tony to tears. Tony's racism toward Noah started a feud With Meadow. After Jackie Aprile Jr skipped out on a dinner with the family Tony met with him. Realizing that the boy suspected him of killing his uncle, Tony told him Richie was an FBI informant and tried to put Jackie Jr off a life of crime by telling him that his father never wanted it for him. Tony instructed Christopher to not involve Jackie Jr in criminal activities and was angered When Chris included him in a robbery to  pay off a debt to Paulie. Ralph had began dating Jackie Sr's widow Rosalie and took him to assault a client who owed him money. Hearing of this, Tony warned Ralph to keep Jackie away from the family as Tony had promised his father he'd look out for him. because of Ralph's decision to involve Jackie Jr Tony decided to pass him over for promotion, instead placing Gigi as captain of the Aprile crew. When Melfi had been raped she broke down in tears during one of their sessions and Tony gently tried to comfort her. Melfi considered using her connection with Tony to have her attacker killed but ultimately decided against it. After being given a speeding ticket by African American officer Leon Wilmore Tony complained to his political ally Ronald Zellman who arranged for Wilmore's transfer to the property room. After an assault on Vito's brother Bryan, Tony knew a message needed to be sent and assigned Bobby's father to perform the hit on Mustang Sally. Bobby was concerned for his father as he was in poor health and had Junior talk to Tony on his behalf but Tony refused to change his mind. Tony encountered Wilmore at the pottery store and was deeply amused by his situation, sarcastically mocking him. After learning Wilmore suffered from depression like him he asked Zellman to get his old job back. Baccala Sr was successful in Killing Sally but died after his car crashed into a billboard. After fighting with Meadow about Noah Tony's feelings of anger against Wilmore Were reignited and he told Zellman to forget his request. He later approached Wilmore to offer him some money but Wilmore simply looked at him and walked away in disgust. After Ralph murdered a Bada Bing stripper he impregnated, a disgusted Tony attacked him and later the thought of it seemed to subdue Tony in therapy. At another therapy session Tony ran into one of Melfi's patients Gloria Trillo and quickly became infatuated with her. Sack mediated between Tony and Ralph, though his idea to make Ralph a captain was quickly rejected by Tony, he was able to convince Ralph to apologize. Following Gigi's death from a heart attack Tony Reluctantly made Ralph a captain which kept the situation from escalating. Tony went to see Gloria at her dealership and began an affair with her. During Christmas Tony began to think about Pussy as he used to play Santa. He asked Paulie if he felt guilty over Pussy and Paulie claimed he'd gladly kill him again. Tony was angered to Ffnd Jackie Jr in a strip club as he was supposed to be dating Meadow and brutally beat him. Tony also confiscated the gun Jackie had received from Ralph before finally Kneeing him in the groin. Meadow reconciled with her father by giving him a big mouth Billy Bass, Tony was deeply saddened as it reminded him that he had murdered Pussy but faked a happy face. Tony sent Chris and Paulie to collect money from Valery, a Russian mobster in debt to Silvio. Tony's failure to show up on time for a date greatly angered Gloria. Tony received a call from Paulie saying he and Chris needed rescuing. Tony then told Gloria he needed to leave for an emergency prompting her to throw stake at his head. Tony and Bobby went to Pine Barrens to save Chris and Paulie. On the ride Bobby took the time to comfort Tony and assure him that he was loved by his uncle and Tony apologized for always making cracks about his weight. After the rescue Tony made clear to Paulie that if Valery were to resurface that was his problem alone. Following the incident with the stake Tony,s relationship With Gloria Was over but When she begged him to take her back he relented. When Gloria's tyres were slashed and Tony failed to mention a time Irina had done something similar Gloria once again became emotional. When Carmela visited the dealership Gloria drove her home and deliberately drove over the speed limit, potentially endangering Carmela's life. When Tony learned about the situation he visited Gloria at her place of work, physically intimidating her and ending their relationship. Jackie attempted to make a name for himself by robbing Eugene Pontecorvo's card game but ended up killing sunshine (the card dealer) which forced him into hiding. On the same night as the botched robbery Tony got calls from Gloria who was crying and incoherent. Tony then went to see her and hoped to end things on amicable terms but Gloria's threat to tell his family about the affair prompted a violent reaction from Tony who strangled her, while she begged him to kill her Tony refrained himself and walked away. The next day Tony sent Patsy Parisi to ensure Gloria didn't tell his family anything. When Chris expressed a desire to kill Jackie, Tony forbid him from doing so. Chris then accused Tony of only playing by the rules when it suited him and claiming to no longer love him. Tony grabbed Chris, dimssed his love and demanded his repect. Tony met with Ralph and left the decision on what to do with Jackie Jr up to him but implied sparing him would lose the respect of the other capos. Ralph then ordered Vito to kill Jackie. Chris's questioning of Tony had caused a strain in the relationship but Tony nonetheless decided on making Chris his main contact through criminal dealings to insulate himself from prosecution. Tony repaired the relationship by giving Chris the address of detective Barry Haydu who Tony alleged to have Killed Chris's father. Chris murdered Haydu and Tony told Melfi he had ensured his nephew's loyalty. Despite his hatred for Ralph Tony was forced to protect him from Sack due to Cifaretto's incredible earning ability. Ralph had insulted Sack's wife Ginny by mocking her weight. Sack requested that his boss Carmine Lupertazzi give him authorization to whack Ralph but Carmine refused as Ralph made too much money on the esplanade. Sack privately arranged for Ralph's death but Carmine foresaw this and permitted Tony to take Sack out. Tony sent Chris and Silvio to so they could contract the atwell avenue boys to kill Sack, however Sack called off the hit which allowed a relived Tony to in turn cancel the assassination attempt on Sack. Tony and Ralph became involved in the horse racing business utilizing the horse Pie-Oh-My. Though Ralph only saw the horse as a way of making profit Tony genuinely cared for it. When the horse became sick Ralph refused to pay for help, passing along Tony's number. Tony willingly settled the bill and got up in the middle of the night to comfort the horse. When Tony learned from Carmela that Gloria had killed herself he struggled to conceal his shock. Tony angrily threatened Melfi, placing blame for Gloria's death onto her. After she stood up to him Tony confessed to wishing he had treated her better. Due to his remorse over Gloria Tony performed several small gestures of kindness for others like taking Janice out to dinner and giving his blessing for her relationship with Bobby as well as signing the living trust for Carmela (something he previously refused to do as it would benefit Carmela in the event of divorce). Tony also lent money to Artie. After being conned out of it Artie tried to kill himself and called Tony to apologize. Tony called 911 and went to see Artie in the hospital. Tony offered to forgive the debt in exchange for his tab at Vesuvio being cleared. Tony became very indignant when Artie accused him of planning for things to turn out this way. He demanded Artie not tell anyone about the suicide attempt or his involvement in it. Tony also sent Furio to collect the debt from a man who ripped off Artie. This led to a serious strain in Tony and Artie's relationship. Getting an idea from Carmela's cousin Brian, Tony worked with Zellman to defraud Hud. When Zellman admitted to seeing Irina Tony seemed understanding, saying he was happy Irina no longer had a problem. Tony later allowed his jealously to get the best of him and confronted Zellman at his house and beat him by whipping him, causing him to cry in front of Irina. Tony developed an interest in acquiring Ralph's gumar Valentina La Paz after they had sex but was unwilling to make it long-term. Valentine explained that Ralph did not have normal sexual tendencies. Tony paid Janice as she was an ex of Ralph to get confirmation of this and began seeing Valentina. When Pie-Oh-My died under suspicious circumstances from a fire. Tony suspected Ralph did it to get the insurance Money. When confronted Ralph denied the allegations but remained indifferent to the horse's death. Ralph then said Tony didn't care about him beating up innocent people as long as he got his money and made a snide remark that Tony cares so much for a horse but had no problem eating meat at his desk. Tony then brutally beat Ralph to death. Tony had Chris help him dispose of the body and noticed his nephew was high. Following these events Tony chose to feign ignorance over Ralph's disappearance and used his beef with Sack to paint Sack as the prime suspect, Tony also did this because Sack had demanded New York be involved in the Hud Scam.. After Chris inflicted a serious beating on Adrianna Tony realized his nephew's drug addiction was spiraling out of control. Tony consulted with Junior who counseled him to kill Chris but Tony was not willing to do it and chose to organize an intervention for him. When Chris acted disrespectful towards his friends and Uncle Paulie, Silvio violently beat him. Tony visited Chris in the hospital and told him to go into Rehab. Tony assigned Patsy to guard his nephew and instructed him to kill Chris if he tried to leave before graduating. While going to see his uncle Tony slept with Junior, as caregiver Svetlana Kirilenko who was also Irina's cousin. Tony continued having problems over the Hud Scam. with Sack and Carmine, who chose to intimidate Tony's appraiser Vic into working for them. Tony then recruited Vic back by having Vito assault him. Tony quit attending his sessions with Melfi as they no longer helped him with ideas for strategy. Tony met With Carmine's son Little Carmine Lupertazzi, hoping to get his help in settling the dispute, however his father's praise of Tony derailed his intent to help and Little Carmine suggested that Tony had been taking advantage of his friendship with Sack. When Tony met with Sack who hoped to compromise he was angered by Carmine's refusal to attend the meeting and arranged for his restaurant to be vandalized. Sack got tired of Carmine costing him money and met with Tony, indicating a plan to kill Carmine. Tony purchased whitecaps, which was a house for Carmela. Tony was happy when Chris got out of rehab and told him to arrange the hit on Carmine. Irina drunkenly called the soprano residence, informing Carmela about Tony's affair with her and one night-stand with Svetlana. When Tony got home Carmela was enraged and demanded a divorce. Tony moved into the pool house which he converted into a living space. When A.J. asked his father to move into the pool-house Tony refused, insisting A.J. be especially good for Carmela as she was going through a hard time. When Carmine reached a favorable spilt Tony had Christopher dispose of the hired help as Carmine's death was no longer necessary and risked war. Tony met with Sack and told him the hit was off. Tony later told his family he was leaving the house and assured A.J. it wasn't his fault, before moving into Livia's old house. During their argument about Tony's affairs Carmela admitted she had fallen in love with Furio, leading Tony to repeatedly taunt her by threatening Furio's life. Tony arranged a return to therapy so he could ask Melfi for a date but she refused, Tony made another attempt by offering her some cruise tickets. Melfi refused and listed his negative traits, prompting him to curse at her and storm off. After Blundetto's release from prison Tony offered to let him get involved with a stolen airbag operation and was disappointed when his cousin refused. Tony also had Massarone killed when he suspected him of being a rat. Tony made peace with Artie when he learned Artie had been living in a motel 6 by offering him a place to stay. When Junior repeatedly insulted him by saying he didn't have the makings of a varsity athlete Tony was very angered by it and later claimed to not care when Junior went missing. After running into Junior's neurologist at the golf course and hearing the symptoms off Alzheimer's described, Tony visited his uncle to reconcile, asking him why he was always negative instead of complimenting Tony. Junior didn't answer, causing both men to tear up. While Chris was away handling a cigarette smoking operation Tony bonded with Adrianna and the two shared a sexually tense moment before it was interrupted by Lupertazzi Capo Phil Leotardo. On the night of Chris's return Tony and Adrianna drove to dover to get some Cocaine from a drug dealer but Tony swerved to avoid hitting a raccoon, causing a crash. While Tony was relatively unscathed Adrianna was left with severe bruises. Rumors circulated that Adrianna had been performing oral sex on Tony before the accident. When Chris found out he pulled a gun on Tony in the Bada Bing, Tony then took his nephew to a secluded area preparing to execute him if he didn't accept that nothing happened between him and Adrianna before Blundetto stepped in to save Chris' life by arranging a meeting with the doctor who treated Adrianna and having him explain that both passengers must have been upright in their seatbelts when it occurred. Tony arranged for Blundetto to be put in charge of the stolen airbag scheme when he decided to return to a life of crime. Tony met his father's old mistress Fran Feldstein, bonding with her and drove Phil off the road to collect money she was owed, however their relationship began to sour when Tony discovered that she was often with his father when Johnny was needed at home. Fran also complained about her phone service being cut off despite the hunk of cash Tony got for her. A meeting with Fran triggered a flasback to when Livia had suffered a miscarriage, Tony was the only one who went to console her, only to be yelled at by his mother. Johnny stayed with Fran while his wife was in the hospital and was unconcerned with his child's death. Tony was then forced to cover for his father. The memory of this provoked momentary empathy toward his mother while talking to Melfi but soon switched his position to defending his father and insulting his mother. On behalf of Little Carmine who was struggling with Sack for power Angelo Garepe contracted Blundetto to eliminate Sack's protege Joey Peeps. Tony deduced this and provided a false alibi for his cousin while talking to Sack. Tony and Blundetto ribbed on Chris over his addictions and Tony deliberately provoked Janice into relapsing after she got anger management by making comments over her strayed son Harpo. When Phil and his brother Billy killed Angelo, Blundetto retaliated by killing Billy. Tony was put under heavy pressure to turn Blundetto in but refused to do so. When Chris told him that Adrianna had been ratting to the feds Tony ordered her death at Silvio's hands. Tony ultimately realized that he could not protect Blundetto forever and took his life personally, partly to spare him from Phil's torture. Around this time Tony also got Carmela to take him back, as Junior's mental health. Janice tried telling Tony to put him in a home but he refused. While preparing a meal for his uncle Tony was shot by Junior, who mistook him for Malanaga. This led to Tony being put into a coma which he was only brought out of by his daughter's voice. The coma evoked a change in Tony as he compromised over an asbestos removal project with Phil and Sack, ended his underlings' intimidation of Jason Barone and passed up the money, when an EMT he previously accused of stealing from his wallet offered him an envelope of Cash. Tony also completely disowned Junior and refused to help him when he was in a mental institution. Tony was approached by Phil on Sack's behalf, asking him to kill Rusty Millio who Sack feared was trying to wrestle power away from him. Tony refused but when Sack later asked him at his daughter's wedding Tony caved, knowing Sack needed to be placated after the situation with Blundetto. When Vito was spotted at a gay bar he fled in fear for his life. While many called for Vito's head Tony was largely indifferent to Vito's sexuality and wanted him to get a pass as he was a good earner. Phil was among the most vocal who wanted Vito dead as he was married to his cousin Marie. Tony's morality sank back as he beat up his bodyguard Perry Anuziata when he noticed his men no longer respected him. Tony's relationship with Chris, which had been deteriorating for a while, was further strained when Tony blamed Chris's absence while on a trip to Los Angelas for a dispute between Artie and Soprano crew Soldier Benny Fazio not being settled quickly. When Vito resurfaced offering to buy his way back into the family Tony was tempted but chose to appease Phil by privately arranging with Silvio to have him killed by Carlo Gervasi. Before this could be carried out however Phil had his men beat Vito to death, infuriating Tony as he saw it as a great sign of disrespect. After Phil suffered a heart attack Tony visited him and talked him out of his vendetta. While playing a game of monopoly with his brother-in-law and sister Tony repeatedly insulted Janice even after Bobby asked him to stop. This led to a fight between Tony and Bobby with Bobby coming out on top, much to Tony's embarrassment. When they later met with two Quebec associates, one of them told Tony that his sister was having custody problems and said taking care of her husband would save money on their pharmaceutical deal. Tony saw this as the perfect opportunity to get revenge on Bobby by assigning him to do the hit, knowing he would hate it. Tony also alienor a big loan which he refused to pay and only did so after the death of Hesh's girlfriend Renata. It is theorized by some that Renata's death was the only thing which kept Tony from eliminating Hesh. After Chris's drug habits resulted in a car crash Tony stumbled out of the car to help his nephew but saw a branch had impaled the baby seat Chris's daughter would have been sitting in. Tony decided Chris would always be a liability and suffocated him. In a dream Tony confessed his crime to Melfi by telling her of the frustrations of having to fake grief to his family as well as contrasting it to his reaction of Pussy's and Blundetto's deaths which both made them feel great sorrow. Tony and Phil got into a further dispute over Abestos with Tony trying to compromise and Phil rejecting his offers. Tony also faced turmoil when A.J. attempted suicide but Tony was luckily able to rescue his son from drowning himself in the pool. Meadow informed her father that Coco Cogliano (an underling of Phil's) had been sexually harassing her, Tony confronted Coco at the restaurant and viciously beat him. Phil then decided to retaliate by launching war on Jersey, which led Tony to preemptively begin plotting Phil's death. MelfI ended her sessions with Tony after concluding he was a sociopath which left him deeply confused. Tony was approached by Janice who wanted him to help pay for Junior but Tony refused and expressed disgust that Bobby continued to show empathy for Junior. Silvio informed Tony that the hit on Phil had been a failure, prompting Tony instructing Silvio to have everyone break routines. Bobby was at a model train store at the time and was Killed on Phil's orders. Due to Bobby's death Tony took his family into hiding as he feared Phil would hurt them. Tony met with Phil's right-hand Buch Deconsini negotiating that Janice was given compensation for Bobby's death as well as getting approval to kill Phil, which he did through soldier Walden Belifore. Tony was told by Blundetto's uncle Pat that he suspected Janice of trying to get Junior's money. Tony visited his uncle and told him to give the money to Bobby's children. Tony realized that his uncle was sick and left holding back tears. Tony then went to dinner with his family at Holtsteins where he is widely presumed to have been killed.
