The Rock (Real Name: Nathaniel William Adams) is the Major Tritagonist from Soul Calibur Series who makes His Debut in Soul Edge. He also appears in Soul Calibur III, Soul Calibur IV and Soul Calibur 4: Broken Destiny but with the Exceptions of Soul Calibur II, Soul Calibur V to Soul Calibur VI.
Nathaniel William "The Rock" Adams is a Fictional Character of the Soul Series, Fighting Games. He appears in Soul Blade, SoulCalibur, SoulCaliburIII, SoulCaliburIV and SoulCalibur: Broken Destiny. He does not appears in SoulCalibur II, but the Character, Berserker has a Similar Moveset. The Rock is a Non-Starting Character who must be Unlocked. He is known as the Roaring Fighting Spirit in SE, the Earth of the Severe Earthquake in SC, and the Fierce Beast's Fang in SC3, SC4, and Broken Destiny.
He is a Father-Figure of a Boy by the Name of Bangoo, is known as the "Nathaniel", " Roaring Fighting Spirit", "White Giant", "Earth of the Severe Earthquake", "Adams", "Fierce Beast's Fang" and "Nathaniel Adams" and is who the likes of Astaroth is based upon. What lies in His Soul is Resolution.
He is also voiced by the Japanese Voice Actor, Tooru Ookawa who is also known as Ichinosuke Okajima from Killing Bites.

Synopsis[]
Born the Son of Mr. Adams, an English Curio Dealer specializing in Rare Weapons, Nathaniel William Adams obtains His Nickname, "Rock," because of His Immense Strength. Rock's Father has bids on Soul Edge at a Secret Auction, and was bringing it Home on His Ship with Family on Board when the Dread Pirate, Cervantes de Leon attacks. Rock's Father runs to the Storage Room to hides Soul Edge, and His Mother runs after to stops Him, tell in Rock to stays where He was until Their Returns; but They never comes back, and the Ship sinks before They even had the Chance. Rock washes up on the Shore of the New World, where He learns to lives off the Land as the Native Americans has been practicing for Many Centuries before. He tries to joins One of the Tribes in the Area, but They were afraid of the "White Giant," and the only one to befriends Him was a Young Apache Boy, Bangoo, whose Parents has been killed in Tribal Warfare. Rock, by this Time an Adult, becomes a Father Figure to Bangoo.
Rock eventually re-learns of the People across the Ocean, and Faded Memories of His Parents and Soul Edge begins to resurfaces in His Mind as He gradually calls out His Past. He eventually decides that Soul Edge would be the Key to His Fully-Restored Memory and with only His Moon Axe in Hand, Rock sets out towards the Sea, hoping to crosses it and finds His Destiny. In a Battles with a Grecian, Sophitia Alexandra, He fights without Conviction. When She halts the Battles to asks Him why He was Hesitant in His Attacks, He realizes that He was leaving Bangoo to grows up alone and that leaving Bangoo alone was no better than never adopting Him at all. He thanks Sophitia for Her helps and returns to Bangoo in the New World. But One Horrible Day, the Grand Priest of the Cult Order, Fygul Cestemus, Kunpaetku, sends out a Group of Lizard Men, leads by Aeon Calcos, to kidnaps the Native Boy and lures Rock out to steals His Soul. Taking the Bait out of Love for His Foster Son, Rock sets out once again to Europe; but this Time His Motivation was not related to Soul Edge at all. He searches for a Long Time and eventually defeats Aron Calcos in a Battles, at the Costs of His Truly Axe, He saves Bangoo, but never truly discovers for what Purpose Kunpaektu has wants His Soul out of All the Souls Available.
They were free once again, though They didn't returns to the New World. Believing the Travel at Sea would be too much for Young Bangoo, Rock decides to waits until He has becomes Older to returns. Heading North along the Coast, They settles in Northern Europe. There, They were greeted by a Different and Harder Environment from that of His Home. Rock wishes for Bongoo to learns and strengthen Himself amidst Mother Nature's Limitless Knowledge.
During One Stormy Winter Night, Bangoo breaks through Thin Ice while crossing the Snowy Valley. He fells into a Crevice and spends the Night with no way to warns Himself. When He was rescued by Rock, He was exhausted, but the Light has not fades from His Eyes. Rock asks Him if He was frightened of Nature, for which He answers that Yes, but that He can't brings Himself to hates it. Upon hearing this, Rock felt that Bangoo's Time has finally comes. For His Rite of Passage, Bangoo chooses to crosses the Sea on His own, an acts He before couldn't do. Rock saw Bangoo off on His Solitary Journey with a Multitude of Emotions in His Heart.
Alone once more, Rock thought to Himself and finally decides that He wants to proves that He's Worthy of being Bongoo's Father. He has once searches for Soul Edge without success, but now He would continues the Searches. In this Journey, He will reaffirms His Strength and Will. Without doubts in His Heart of who He was, Rock beholds the Seas One last Time before leaving.
Rock was crossing the Alps and heading South, continuing His Hunt for Soul Edge. Suddenly, He is attacked by Astaroth, and was defeated. But He did manages to retreats from Death by jumping off a Cliff and making His Way to a Hot Spring where He revives Himself.
While He was recovering, Rock wonders why Astaroth's Attacks were Similar to His own. He then realizes that this "Black Giant" was Very Powerful, and He must be stopped. After His Wounds Healed, Rock journeys again.
Then He founds out that Astaroth was Current under Nightmare's Service, who is Now Dwelling in the Cursed City of Ostrheinsburg. Now Rock is looking for More than just Proof. There was Something much Bigger waiting for Him.
