Teana Lanster is a young member of the Administrative Bureau's ground forces who appears in Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS as a protagonist. Teana, who is Subaru Nakajima's best friend and a student of Nanoha Takamachi, quickly becomes the leader of Riot Force 6 Forward and, despite her unremarkable innate talent for magic, becomes a meteoric star after StrikerS. She spent several years under the tutelage of Fate T. Harlaown before eventually joining the Bureau's Executive Officer corps.
History[]
Teana lost her parents at a young age, and her older brother and only sibling, Tilda Lanster, took care of her. Unfortunately, when Teana turned 10 years old, her older brother was involved in a criminal case in which her ruthless boss led the case. Wounded but unsuccessful in capturing the wanted sorcerer, he is forced to risk his own life and even make sacrifices in order to succeed in his mission, so his aforementioned superior was ridiculed him as "useless and a failure". With her brother disgraced from her last mission to her death, Teana made it her goal to prove to everyone that the bullets of House Lanster were not to be taken lightly. Therefore, her dream is to become an enforcer like her brother.
In the manga, Teana is first introduced to enroll in the academy after previously dropping out of air combat training and failing to join the Capital Air Force, and Subaru, as they are the only two to have a custom device and she will be assigned as a partner. She gets irritated when Subaru starts her off prematurely and makes mistakes like accidentally throwing her into a wall instead of giving her her boost and getting in trouble with the instructor, and she gets frustrated when Subaru starts her off too early and gets in trouble with her instructor. She claim that they are not taken seriously. She tells Subaru that she doesn't want to be friends, but Subaru persists and the two begin to work well as a team. When Teana meets Ginga and learns about Subaru's past, she falls in love with her even more and begins to call her by her first name, as if to separate her from Ginga. Both Teana and Subaru graduate from the academy at the top of their class and pass on their first attempt. She will take the D and C magician rank exams. After graduation, they join the ground forces and repeatedly pair up because of their complementary skills.
Teana joins Riot Force 6, but she worries about her normalcy compared to many of the other members. Despite her train and successful mission on Earth in her first soundstage, she feels inadequate. When several Gadget Drones are summoned near her, they begin their attack against her orders to hold the line, and she nearly hits Subaru. Depressed by her failure, she trains harder than ever and comes up with a dangerous strategy to defeat Nanoha in the next mock battle. The plan fails, and Teana later attacks Nanoha, knocking her unconscious. Later, Teana learns that Nanoha's overreaching caused her injury and nearly crippled her, and she tells her about her plan to make Nanoha make the most of what she has. After speaking to her, she apologizes. Despite the misunderstanding, Nanoha had always had high expectations for Teana and had planned from an early stage on her to entrust her with command of the other forwards.
When Teana starts using her illusion magic, her combat efficiency increases. As time passes, Tiana develops a strong friendship with Weiss Gransenic, who is also a skilled archer. During the Riot Force 6's invasion, Teana's illusions allowed the Forward to escape from their combat cyborg attackers. In her final battle, she defeats Nove, Wendi, and Deed, and Nove says that even though she was created to be her weapon, Subaru shows that people like her can live as kind individuals. Subaru and Teana then help Nanoha, Hayate, Reinforce Zwei, and Vivio rescue from the Cradle before the TSAB fleet destroys it.
After the JS incident, Nanoha teaches Starlight Breaker in her final days with Riot Force 6. At the end of the series, Teana begins her training working as Fate T. Harlaown's executive assistant under the Directorate Headquarters.
Personality[]
Teana is a bit insecure at first and desperately tries to prove herself as a magician to show that her family's style of magic has value, especially compared to the powerful members of Riot Force 6. She is often quite brash and has difficulty opening up to others, but is very close with her friends. In front of her best friend Subaru, Teana tends to be somewhat irritable and disliked her before learning more about her. She values Subaru and is grateful for him being her friend, but she doesn't confide in him because it seems strange for Subaru to say that openly.

Teana is a user of Midtilda's magic system and a telepath. Due to her proficiency in shooting, Teana is assigned the position of center guard in Riot Force 6's frontline team. During her training, Teana receives an advanced intelligent device called the Cross Mirage in place of her old anchor gun. Teana is ambidextrous, which allows her to use Cross Mirage's dual gun mode very efficiently. In addition to shooting magic, her specialty is illusion-based magic.
Teana usually relies on a motorbike for her transportation, as she lacks effective rapid movement or flight abilities. She drove it on holiday with StrikerS's Subaru and during the evacuation of 6 members of the riot police stranded at Saint's Cradle.
In Force, she stands on a speeding motorcycle, blowing out the tires of the Grendel family's getaway car, and demonstrating precision fire with an oxtane.
Teana's Barrier, the standard last defensive barrier for sorcerers.Her jacket was originally a standard model for the early ground forces of StrikerS. Once Cross Mirage is officially received, her jacket is changed to a design called Stars Style, similar to Subaru's, based on Nanoha's Aggressor mode, offering heavier armor at the cost of higher mana consumption .
Teana's signature spell is Crossfire Shoot in StrikerS, and her most powerful spell is Starlight Breaker, which she learned from Nanoha after the JS incident. Ironically, Teana uses Starlight Breaker to defeat Nanoha herself in ViVid.
