Storm Shadow is an anti-heroic/anti-villainous antagonist of the G.I. Joe series. He is best known as Cobra Commander's ninja bodyguard and assassin. He can trace his lineage of assassins through 30 generations. He is a classic character study in conflict. Storm Shadow's main reason for joining the COBRA comes not from avarice, but from a need for revenge. The commander fulfilled his loyalty by promising to finally reveal the identity of his uncle's killer.
His sword brother Snake Eyes eventually convinced Storm Shadow to give up revenge and joined him, Duke, and his Joe team, engaging in many missions and adventures. However, during a routine mission, he was captured by Cobra and brainwashed into serving them again. Now Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow find themselves at odds once again.
