Steven "Steve" Trevor is a fictional supporting character and hero in the DC Comics and Universe and the love interest of Wonder Woman. He is a member of the United States military and intelligence who met Wonder Woman when he crash landed on Themyscira. After returning to his world, Trevor would assist Wonder Woman in stopping threats in her rogues gallery. During the New 52 and Rebirth launches, Trevor has become a government agent who stops threats outside of the United States, and has returned to being Wonder Woman's love-interest. Since his appearance in the comics, the character has appeared in numerous media. In the 1970s TV show, he was played by the late Lyle Waggoner. He is portrayed by Chris Pine in the titular 2017 film, Wonder Woman and its sequel, Wonder Woman 1984.

He was created by the late William Moulton Marston and the late H.G. Peter, and first appeared in All-Star Comics #8 in January of 1942.

Golden Age[]

Steven "Steve" Trevor was born during the 1900s, and joined the United States Army before the start of the Second World War. He managed to reach to the rank of captain before becoming a lieutenant colonel by the start of World War 2, and joined the United States Air Force to serve as a pilot and member of military intelligence. While on mission, Trevor crash landed on Paradise Island and was saved and nursed back to health by Princess Diana, who became smitten by him. The two returned to his world where he became her ally, but wouldn't know of her identity as Wonder Woman until later. The two would later marry and have a daughter, whom they named after Diana's mother, Hippolyta. Due to "Crisis on Infinite Earths", Steve and Diana moved to Mount Olympus since their earth was erased from existence. By the end of "Infinite Crisis", he was erased from existence as well.

Silver Age[]

On Earth-One, Steven Leonard "Steve" Trevor was a major in the United States Army, and began a romance with Wonder Woman before being killed by Doctor Cyber. Eros saw Wonder Woman be in grief, and placed Steve's spirit into the body of a man named Steve Howard, but Trevor eventually left Howard's body. He returned into another body of his own from another Earth by Aphrodite, and married Wonder Woman before the two were erased due to "Crisis on Infinite Earths".

New Earth[]

Steve Trevor is a commercial pilot, a retired colonel in the United States Air Force. Born and raised in Enid, Oklahoma, Steve is the son of Ulysses Trevor and Diana Rockwell. He lost his mother when he was 7; while test piloting an experimental jet, she was lost over the Mediterranean Sea. In reality, she had washed ashore on Themyscira, and helped in the defense of Doom's Doorway at the expense of her life. Queen Hippolyta named her own daughter Princess Diana after the outsider hero. Ares manipulated General Samuel "Sam" Tolliver to send Colonel Trevor to bomb Themyscira and as he was nearing the island, he realized that by doing so, he would kill many innocents. His co-pilot, who was possessed by Ares too, fought him and forcing the plane down. Diana, seeing the plane go down, dove in the sea and saved Trevor She brought him back to the shores of Themyscira, and there she recognized the insignia on his jacket and she decided from there on that she was to fight against Ares. Eventually, an argument with his superior made Trevor decide to retire. He set up a private aviation firm, and eventually married Etta Candy, his former aide. They lived near Hanscom Air Force Base, though Steve had expressed the desire to return to Enid. Trevor later went into politics, and served as Deputy Secretary of Defense during the Horne administration.

Prime Earth[]

On Prime Earth, Steven Howard "Steve" Trevor was a officer in the United States Navy, who crash landed on Themyscira while on a mission. He was found by princess Diana and was taken in to be nursed back to health, and was escorted to the new world by Diana after she won the contest. Trevor helped Diana get use to the ways of the new world since she couldn't return to Themyscira, and supported her alongside Etta Candy and Barbara Minerva. He began a romantic relationship with Diana, but the two became distant to work of Phobos and Deimos when they altered their minds. Returning to duty, Trevor was recruited into Team 7, a counter-metahuman organization. After the team was dissolved, he became the liaison between the world and the Justice League of America.
