Sebas Tian is one of the protagonists and also one of the anti-heroes/anti-villains in Overlord. He's the chief steward of the Great Tomb of Nazarick, with several servants and other stewards under his command. He was created by Touch Me and also the leader of the Pleiades Six Stars.
Although he is not a member of the Floor Guardians, his power is comparable to the Floor Guardians. In a sense, he is independent of their chain of command. He originally served as Nazarick's last line of defense alongside the Pleiades on the Ninth Floor to give his guild, Ainz Ooal Gown, time to prepare for a final stand in the Throne Room.
Appearance[]
In human form, Sebas Tian looks like an elderly butler, elegantly wearing a traditional black uniform. Sebas's hair is completely white, as is his snow-white beard. His sunken face is lined with wrinkles and looks kind at first glance, but his eyes are as sharp as an eagle's. However, in the manga, his beard is longer, his shoulders are not as broad, and his face also looks older.
Personality[]
Like his creator, Touch Me, Sebas Tian is all about personal justice. Unlike many other denizens of Nazarick, he does not completely despise humans or view them as inferior creatures. Instead, he believes that some people are good and that it is the duty of the strong to protect the weak. However, he has a hatred for humans with ugly traits, and will not hesitate to kill anyone who opposes Nazarick. Sebas also tends to doubt whether his actions are right or wrong, contrary to his master's orders. Although he does not know why he would do such a thing, Sebas believes that Touch Me's will is the driving force that encourages his actions, which contradict the current master's will. Sebas has a stoic personality, but his greatest fear is being executed as a traitor to his master. When his loyalty to Ainz is questioned, he becomes extremely nervous.
He believes that this is why Sebas can't bring himself to hate humans when he encounters humans who aren't motivated solely by self-interest. Sebas believes he is wrong to kick out a pathetic being solely because of its potential for danger. Like Demiurge and Ulbert, the two NPCs don't seem to get along very well with each other as they are polar opposites in their traits due to the conflict in his personality which mirrors Touch Me. The reason why Sebas has such a normal personality is because there is no setting by the author. He made a big point that the number one NPC most influenced by the creator was Sebas in particular, since he is a blank character.
He is kind and friendly towards humans. Sebas acts heroically in his own actions, he wants to help as many people around him as possible. If Sebas sees someone in trouble, he will help them until the end. Sebas admits to being sympathetic towards people in distress, and even though he has to face other conflicts of his own along the way, he doesn't hesitate to stop and put them in harm's way. He also delays his own duties and missions a little to deal with unimportant issues like the first. However, Sebas has no intention of saving those who only pray for him to extend a helping hand. But if someone like Tuare is facing hardship and trying to survive, he will help.
