Sakuya Igawa (井河咲夜) is a Taimanin and member of the Igawa clan that is still very young.
She is the partner of Kannazuki Sora.
Personality[]
She is used to showing a confident side of herself to others but acts childish in front of her family. However, turned rather cold since being abandoned by them.
Sakuya has a rather cold-hearted demeanor, struggling to work together with her partner Sora at first. Trying things alone a lot of the time to prove herself, but she can still become emotional when topics like her ninja art or family come up. Sakuya is very stubborn and hates to lose, which keeps driving her to train but also take shortcuts if she fears, she can't catch up.
When Sora awakened to her Ninja Art fully, Sakuya felt jealous, even when still in danger. The hate towards Sora, being a genius and Sakuya falling behind, further draws her to use supplements in secret, which only have more and more dangerous effects on her mental state.
History[]
A member of the Igawa clan, she was expected to excel as a Taimanin from a very young age by her family.
She admired her distant relative, Igawa Asagi, and dreamed of becoming an outstanding Taimanin. However, she became frustrated by her inability to awaken her ninja art, continuously failing despite trying every method possible, which resulted in her family abandoning her and handing the position of the clan successor to her sister.
While roaming around, she became friends with Kannazuki Sora, who, just like her, lost everything and came to Gosha Village, and decides to find a new dream. She is later seen training with Sora, at one of the UFS (DSO) bases with Kannazuki Sora.
While on a mission with Fuuma Kotaro, she was caught using a Demon Drug, which was supposed to strengthen and awaken her Art. After getting a pep talk from Kotaro, she stopped using it, at least for a while. Sakuya and Sora later encountered a "demonic foe", that ate other Taimanin. Sakuya was almost kidnapped by the demon as well and kept, but Sora awoke to her Ninja Art fully and saved Sakuya. In turn, Sakuya once more feels inadequate.
As a result, Sakuya kept taking the Demon Drug once more and, while training in hiding, awoke to her Shade Art, while Sora kept growing stronger in the Taimanin Task Force. Sakuya still hides that fact, and the demonic drug has shown mental effects, turning her more aggressive.
The "demonic foe" from before, was a leader of a mercenary troop of demons, was the original boss of Spinel and Lapis, which had forced him to flee originally. Now robbed of the kill and unable to prove themselves, Spinel made their target Sora. On a mission to protect a "pro-Nomad" politician (Likely Yazaki Muneichi), together with Uehara Rin. Sora, and Sakuya are attacked by Spinel and Lapis, with them wanting Sora dead. In the fight, they mention that they concluded Sakuya had been of no use, and only Sora was their target. (Currently ongoing)
Powers/Abilities[]
Main Weapon: Ninjato
- Ninja Arts: "Shade Art" enhances reflexes, dynamic vision, and intuition, and is named after the black shadow that seems to wrap around her body when she uses it.
- Particle Control: Taimanin are able to manipulate Taima Particles to enhance their physical strength, speed and defense. The particles are also used to counter demonic influences and strengthen damage to demons.
