Russell the Sea Otter is one of the main characters in Happy Tree Friends. He was voiced by Francis Carr.
Description[]
Russell is a turquoise male sea otter, Russell owns typical pirate accessories, such as a with a Jolly Roger's hat, an eyepatch on right eye (left eye in the manga and anime adaptation only), a hook hand, and peg legs. He also wears a ripped red striped shirt and black pants. His accessories actually cover his missing eye, hand, and legs. Russell's vocabulary, including his screams, usually consists of "Yar" and other variations.
Personality[]
Russell was much less social with other characters and exhibited the attitude of a pirate, as his episodes' premises were strictly nautical-related and always took place near the ocean. He was also less dimwitted and more accident-prone, having a similar role to Flaky and Handy. In later seasons, he interacts with other characters regularly and develops a romantic interest in Giggles, doesn't have as much of a pirate-esque demeanor, survives fairly often compared to most characters who rarely survive, and acts like a foolish scallywag who lacks much common sense.
