Rosita "Rosa" Casagrande is a recurring character of The Loud House and one of the tritagonists of its spin-off The Casagrandes. She is the maternal grandmother of Ronnie Anne and Bobby Santiago, the mother of Maria Santiago and Carlos Casagrande, the paternal grandmother of Carlota, CJ, Carlino, and Carlitos Casagrande, and the wife of Hector Casagrande. She is a big fat old Mexican lady who likes to cook food and throw shoes at people.
She is voiced by Sonia Manzano, who also portrayed Maria Rodriguez in Sesame Street.
Biography[]
Rosa is a Mexican woman who loves cooking food for people and always whips up massive meals for them in seconds, even when they ask for a snack. She makes sure that her family and others safe from the neighborhood cats. She also likes to make all kinds of dishes and does a good job at keeping house and cleaning the floors and windows. However, Rosa has to deal with Hector who being lazy and getting in her way. She and Hector bicker and spar a lot because of her competence and his incompetence, but in "Grandparent Trap", this is just lover's quarrel and the two are still love each other. She also deals with Carl who sometimes he can cause trouble or refusing to listen to her.
As of the episode "Power Play with the Casagrandes", Rosa and Hector are being married for forty years. She is feared of irrational nonsense, like bad luck and curses, so she usually lights scented candles, sage herbs and uses soul crystals to remove any alleged evil spirits. She gets these irrational fears from watching Ernesto Estrella, a spiritual magician on TV who paranoids people. Her weapon is her shoes that she often throws her shoe at anyone who threatens her life or any of her family who misbehave or disobey her, mainly Carl.
Personality[]
Rosa is a caring and loving person who always thinking of her loved ones and cooking for her family. She is vigilant about her loved health ones and sometimes can be overprotective, as shown in "The Spies Who Loved Me" and "Away Game" where she spies on her grandchildren and track them in case something happens.
Appearance[]
Rosa is a short, rotund Mexican-American woman who has tan skin, dot eyes, short black hair, rolled into a bun and golden circular earrings. She wears a navy blue dress with a white collar while having white on the end of the sleeves, a greenish blue apron and black shoes.
