However, she thought, and decided that the droid wasn't for sale. After meeting Finn, she drove the Millennium Falcon as Finn sat next to her, and they had both escaped from the vicious hands of some Tie Fighter pilots. She then met Han Solo, who took her to the Resistance Base, the planet D'Qar.
The call of the Force
Later, Finn revealed to her that he is a former Stormtrooper from The First Order, and that he is done with it. Rey then heard a kid screaming from a passage. As she entered the passage, she saw a treasure box holding the Skywalker lightsaber. When she took the lightsaber, she had a Force vision in which she saw the ruthless Kylo Ren with the Knights of Ren. In the next in the vision, she saw herself as a child being sold to Unkar Plutt. Her last vision included Kylo Ren in a florest covered in snow. Maz Kanata revealed to her that the lightsaber was calling to her. She however refused to be involved in the war, and so she ran into the woods outside Maz's castle. After the destruction of The Republic, Kylo Ren goes to Takodana looking for the map to Luke Skywalker. However, as Kylo encountered Rey, he kidnapped her because he read her mind and discovered that she had seen the map. He knocked her out with the Force and he held her fainted body in his arms, bringing her to his ship, heading to The Starkiller Base.
Fighting the First Order
Kylo Ren tried to interrogate Rey, reading her mind. However, Rey resisted him, she tried to block his powers using her own force power. Rey managed to read his mind as well, stating he was afraid of not being strong like Darth Vader. Later, she managed to escape by controlling a stormtrooper with the Force, and she had to run away from other Stormtroopers, who were searching for her with Kylo Ren.
She then found Han, Finn and Chewbecca who came to rescue her. However, Han saw Kylo Ren, and went to talk to him, as Rey witnessed the conversation. Kylo Ren was almost convinced by his father, but then the dark side overtook him and he killed Han Solo instead. Rey screamed as she watched how Han got stabbed by Ren's lightsaber. Kylo Ren then encountered her in the woods, and pushed her with the Force, knocking her out. Kylo had defeated Finn in a battle, making Rey ruthlessly take his lightsaber and fight Ren back. Ren was dominating the battle, however, when he was cornering her on the edge of a rift, he decided to ask to be her teacher who would show her the ways of the Force. Rey then used this opportunity to gather her strenght in the Force and use it against him. She defeated him cutting his leg, stabbing his shoulder and slashing his face, as a rift opened between them.
Rey then escaped Starkiller Base, and reunited with Leia Organa in The Resistance Base.
She then went to find Luke Skywalker. She managed to find him on an island. She stood before him and offered the Skywalker lightsaber.
