Rebecca Lee, known as Revy is one of the two main protagonists and the recurring anti-heroine/anti-villainess of the manga/anime series Black Lagoon. She's one of the Lagoon Company's secret agents, Rock's partner and Dutch's employee.

In Taimanin RPGX, she's one of the cameo characters, an infamous pirate and a honorary member of Taimanin and Taimanin Strike Force.

Appearance[]

Revy is a Chinese-American woman with tanned skin and moderate height, in her mid-to-late 20s, with burgundy hair, usually tied in a low, loose ponytail, with fairly large bangs, hangs over the forehead on each side and has two shoulders. With long side locks that frame her face, her amber eyes, a tribal tattoo that reaches all the way to her neck on her upper right arm, a medium-sized bust, and she maintains her physique, she has a slight is proud of her muscular physique. Despite her slender physique, she does not hide at all.

History[]

Revy was born in New York City, NY.

Few details are known about Revy's past, as what is gathered is from brief flashbacks from both the manga and the anime. Revy was born as Rebecca Lee, a Chinese American, in the poverty-stricken Chinatown district of New York City and raised by an abusive, alcoholic father. One day, after fleeing from one of her father's rampages, she was arrested, beaten, and raped by a corrupt police officer. Upon being returned home following this ordeal, Revy shot and killed her father after he callously asked her for another drink, using a pillow as a make-shift silencer.

There were apparently similar incidents between Revy and the police, particularly at the 27th Precinct. Revy has alluded to doing time in prison (in Buffalo Hill where it’s mentioned the warden knew her) and it is hinted she is an escaped felon, but it is unknown how she ended up in Roanapur.

For some time, she worked in an S&M bar, as a dancer but, likely because of her past trauma, preferred to work as a hired gun.

In Roanapur (Thailand), she became the enforcer and guard of the Lagoon Company. A for-hire service used by various criminal organizations to locate and retrieve or smuggle items. Though she found friends and formed many relationships, Revy still keeps most people at arm's length.

Timeline RPGX[]

Appears in a cameo chapter. Most of her appearance is changed to reflect the future time setting. Revy of this timeline lives in the year 2083 and most of the events of her Manga did happen. At some point, Revy revealed some of her backstory to a reporter which turned her story into a drama. Which spawned a manga and anime, but her real name was changed. Though Revy states that it undersells how good she is with her guns and dislikes that it was basically made without permission. Most people know the Black Lagoon show, but are not aware it is based on true events.

Revy is sent by Balalaika to cooperate with the Taimanin in an investigation of Kotrara Island. Infiltrating the Pirate Orcs which are rumored to prepare an armed uprising and take out the government. Revy is given a Taimanin costume, that she states is slutty, but since the boss of the Orc Pirates is into Japanese culture and his bar uses Taimanin costumed hostesses, it is a good disguise. Confronting Roberta that had her own reasons for arriving later on, the party learned the orcs were only pawns in a conspiracy of Task Force G. Used as scapegoats, the UFS would gain influence by bringing them down and taking over the island as saviors.

However, Revy and the rest took care of most of the weapons and small "G" forces, including Ares. As the matter came to a close, Revy calls the operation a success and hopes there might be a future one, in which she can show her home.

Personality[]

Revy is a troubled, loud, rude, sarcastic, deadly, competitive, short-tempered, cynical, self-confident, fairly aggressive nihilist and wild. It also shows the temperament of Revy is undiplomatic and believes in using violence and coercion to get his way. Of all the characters in the series, Revy uses the foulest language, is also a heavy smoker and a heavy drinker. Revy is ruthless and sadistic, capable of killing anyone, even unarmed civilians. Despite her ruthless nature, she is capable of humor and wit, and can speak very well when she is not angry. Revy's children like friends and are also very protective, and once they have friends they are loved.

Although she worked in the red light district and was not ashamed of it, her trauma made sexual or romantic relationships difficult because she considered herself broken.

People trying to understand what she went through and how it affected her was a huge trigger for Revy, reacting with her intense anger and the suffering that occurred to her in her childhood. suggests the depth of sadness. The changing yet unstable attitude of Locke, the Lagoon Company's newcomer and most outspoken and humane member of the crew. Although she respects him later in the series, she is primarily hostile towards Locke at first, as she intentionally tries to kill him at least twice and has threatened him countless other times was. However, she tends to save Locke from critical situations, and she later admits that she considers him like her family.

She respects Balalaika and calls her sister. Many people call her "Revy," but older people often call her Rebecca.

In this crossover event, Revy is teased by Yukikaze about her breasts, while at the same time enjoying their shared hot-tempered and competitive side, and they quickly become friends. She also pointed out that Kotaro Fuuma's tactics reminded her of someone at home, Rock.

Power & Abilities[]

Revy is one of the most feared warriors in the series, his handling of firearms and ability to dodge bullets almost superhuman and unparalleled. There are only a few other characters that can compete with her in combat, such as Roberta and Ginji.

Main Weapon: Dual Beretta 92F

Gun Expert: She fires her M79 grenade launcher alone while standing on the deck of a moving boat, casually and effectively fires her PM-63 submachine gun, and various other He is also good at handling weapons. She wields a Geopard anti-material rifle against a helicopter gunship. Revy also seems to be very knowledgeable about weapons, and when Dutch handed her an APS underwater rifle, she seemed unusually excited.
