This article looks like it needs to be 20% cooler with at least an image. It would be lame otherwise.

Raimundo Pedrosa is one of the recurring character of Xiaolin Showdown and Xiaolin Chronicles, serving as the series antagonist-turned-deuteragonist and one of the protagonists.

Appearance[]

Xiaolin Showdown[]

Raimundo has short spiky brown hair and thick brown eyebrows. He is Brazilian with light tanned skin, a round face, and green eyes. He is the second tallest monk after Clay Bailey and seems to be the same height as Jack Spicer. He has a lean but muscular physique, as seen in "Deep Freeze" and "Dream Stalker".

In his first season, when traveling outside the temple, Raimundo wears a golden medallion around his neck, a white hoodie, and red wristbands on each arm. He also wears green khaki pants and red shoes. From the second season until the end of the series, consisting of an orange and green long-sleeved shirt, tan khaki pants, and black shoes.

Xiaolin Chronicles[]

Raimundo has changed significantly compared to his appearance in Xiaolin Showdown. Although his height has increased, he is still the second tallest monk after Clay Bailey and appears to be the same height as Jack Spicer. His face is less round, with a pointed chin, and his complexion appears more tan. Although he still maintains a toned and muscular physique, he mentions in "Rocco" that he "cut his abs."

When moving outside the temple, Raimundo wears a green jacket with yellow stripes on his arms and a blue T-shirt underneath. He also wears tan cargo pants and blue shoes.

Personality[]

Raimundo is generally portrayed as a laid-back and witty character who can sometimes get into pranks. He is known for being lazy. Avoid his chores by using Shen Gong Wu as seen in "The Shard of Lightning" or by having others like Ping Pong or Vlad do the household chores instead. After all, he says it out of good intentions, but his teasing of other monks can sound spiteful. Usually, Omi and Clay are his main targets, and in "Big as Texas" Raimund admits that's part of why he misses Clay back home.

He doesn't like losing. In "Shen Yi Bu" he spends the rest of the day brooding over the loss of his Storm Sword to Tubbimura, and in "Oil in the Family" Jack Spicer's frustration when he escapes in the Rio Reverso expressed. Raimundo sometimes acts before planning ahead, which can lead to more trouble than necessary. Because of this, he was initially held back from being promoted to Xiaolin Apprentice by Master Fung. But he has acknowledged his mistakes and learned from them.

Raimundo comes across as laid back and carefree, but he has shown to have a strong sense of judgment and will brace himself when necessary. He is zealous in his duty as a Xiaolin warrior, especially when Hannibal Roy Bean tries to sway him to Heylin's side again in "The Return of Master Monk Guan". He is no stranger to street wits to trick his enemies, and in "Panda Town" he used the fake Shen Gong Wu to trick Panda Baba's minions into rescuing the other monks. Raimundo is also willing to take extreme measures to save the world.

Raimundo is shown to have several hobbies throughout the series. He was an experienced surfer who always kept a surfboard in his room and dreamed of winning the "Shen Yi Bu" surfing contest. One of his favorite sports is football, which he often plays in the temple grounds, and he is also interested in videos of his games. He is the second most technologically savvy after Kimiko, and has enough knowledge to create computer viruses. He loves music, especially "Royal Rumble" rap and hip-hop, and also owns a boombox.

Trivia[]

  • In Xiaolin Showdown, Raimundo is voiced by Tom Kenny, who also voices Hannibal Roy Bean, Vlad, Kurofanji and other background characters. He is also known for voicing the title character in Spongebob, Heffer Wolfe in Rocco's Modern Life, and Ice King in Adventure Time.
  • In Xiaolin Chronicles, Raimundo is voiced by Eric Bauza, as well as Jack Spicer, PandaBubba and Grand Master Dashi. He is White Pantera in El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera, Splinter in Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Puss in Boots in The Adventures of Puss in Boots. He is also known for being the voice actor.
  • He is the only monk who does not have episodes set in their respective home countries. The majority of the series takes place in China (Omi), with episodes set in Japan (Kimiko) and Texas, USA (Clay).
  • As revealed in "In the Flesh", Raimundo sleeps with a teddy bear at night. He named it Ninja Fred and considered it a good luck charm in "Dream Stalker".
  • Raimundo is the only Monk whose first showdown was not against Jack Spicer. In general, Raimundo is the monk who interacts the least with Jack, instead spending more time interacting with Omi, Clay, and Kimiko.
  • His primary weapon of choice is a sword. In the original series he is shown wielding the Sword of Storm and Nebula, and in the reboot he wields the Sword of Lucida.
  • Despite playing an important role in Xiaolin Showdown, Raimundo has a much smaller presence in Kobayashi Chronicle and is rather underdeveloped as a character.
  • He is the only monk in Xiaolin Chronicles who does not participate in the showdown alone. In the showdown in "Mi Temple, Mi Casa", all of the monks fought, but in "Rocco", he and Clay are used as stand-ins for Dojo and Rocco's death, as they are unable to participate themselves.
