Rachel "Ray" Gardner is the main protagonist of Satsuriku no Tenshi. In episode 4, it is revealed that she's the B1 Floor Master.

Appearance[]

Ray is a petite 13-year-old girl with hip-length blonde hair that hangs in the middle of her face, large blue eyes, and a petite build. Her eye saturation changes throughout the game, and at the end of episode 3, she is shown to be a much darker blue. During episode 4, a gradient from dark blue to light blue is clearly visible. She wears a black and white horizontally striped shirt that almost covers her black shorts, a loose-fitting white cardigan, and chunky black boots with silver buckles. Additionally, Ray wears a plain black choker and carries a small black messenger bag with a triangular flap.

Personality[]

Ray is originally portrayed as a very calm and collected girl, but this may come fro m her death wish, with other floormasters saying that she is ruthless, selfish, and manipulative, and willing to do anything to get what she wants. However, it is a mistake to think of her as an evil or malicious person, as she does not understand human morality by nature, and does not actually have any cruel impulses. She has been shown to have empathy issues and have difficulty expressing or understanding emotions, and while she has shown fear, anger, compassion, and happiness, these are rare, fleeting, and in moderation. However, she does not fake emotions or pretend to have emotions that do not exist. However, in later episodes, she appears to be more expressive. Ray is fixated on the idea of the existence of God. As such, she was distressed when Gray said that God would not accept her vow with Zack, and when Zack said that he believed that God did not exist in the world. Ray was in desperate need of a God to believe in, which caused her to become delusional and to see Zack as her god. It was only after Zack helped Ray come to terms with his behavior that he was able to accept his own warped perspective and realize that his true desire was to be wanted by someone, dead or alive. After that, Ray began to behave like a normal person, especially towards Zack, with whom he had built a close bond over time.
