Perry the Platypus, codenamed Agent P, is one of the two deuteragonists (alongside Candace Flynn) of the Disney Channel animated franchise Phineas and Ferb.

He is Phineas Flynn, Ferb Fletcher, and Candace Flynn's pet platypus, who, unknown to them, is a secret agent working for The O.W.C.A. His immediate superior is Major Monogram and his former archenemy is Heinz Doofenshmirtz.

He is voiced by Dee Bradley Baker, who also voices Wallabee Beetles, Lion, Lady Rainicorn, Pinky the Chihuahua, Appa, and Momo, Naga, Wulf, Tommy Gilligan, Fifi (Rugrats), The Clones, and David Kawena.

Appearance[]

Perry is a short platypus who heights almost half of a normal human. He has skin of color of emerald, eyes with maroon pupils, orange beak and foots and pale tail.

When he turns Agent P, he wears a brown hat with darker stripe in the middle.

History[]

Perry is Phineas, Ferb, and Candace's pet platypus who also works as a secret agent and highly skilled in martial arts, has speed, and reflexes.

His arch-nemesis is Dr. Doofenshmirtz who he often tries to foil his plans from world domination, which he is always successful in doing. He has shown to switch his disguises frequently. Doofenshmirtz only recognizes Perry when he has his fedora hat on, but doesn't when he doesn't have it on and only sees him as a normal platypus.

Skills and Abilities[]

For a platypus, Perry has above-average strength, speed, stamina, accuracy, and reflexes, (According to Doofenshmirtz, he can perform "highly improbable judo maneuvers") making him a formidable hand-to-hand combatant. A master of platyjitsu, Perry can subdue his nemesis, Dr. Doofenshmirtz, with ease. Perry is quick-thinking and very efficient in his missions, especially when compared to his temporary partner, the British spy Agent Double 0-0 For example, while Double 0-0 is trying to use his laser-watch to cut through his metal restraints, Perry simply throws a brick at the remote control, pressing the big button and freeing them both. Perry was also able to single-handedly destroy five Norm Bots whereas a group of twelve fellow agents failed to destroy even one despite numerical superiority and an initially successful ambush. He has also been shown to respond to and understand not only English, but French as well, however at one occasion he needed a dictionary.

Perry is familiar with operating most kinds of machinery and vehicles, even if they're Doofenshmirtz's (although perhaps this is due to the fact that most of them have an obvious off-switch, plug or self-destruct button) or Phineas and Ferb's inventions. With the help of Dr. Doofenshmirtz, he could fix a machine and slightly upgrade it he was able to wield a lightsaber with extreme skill. He could also build big things such as a shelter complete with music and animal servants, and a spinning windmill sculpture while operating a robot (although it might be one of the robot's mechanisms) Perry knows math, as he is seen measuring the trap put on by Dr. Doofenshmirtz, as well as making calculations in his head to keep Heinz out of the way while Vanessa and Monty wished to remain unseen. Perry also knows how to drive. Some of the vehicles he drives are a hovercraft car, a banana truck (with aid of stilts so he can reach the pedals), and Dr. Doofenshmirtz's truck. He can also pilot a plane and parallel park with extreme skill.

Perry is musically talented as he can play the guitar, the bass guitar, He also can DJ, sing opera, and read music sheets.

Robe-wearing platypus[]

An unnamed platypus clad in a robe and associate of Dr. Phineastein and Ferbgor from Victorian Era. Judging from why he dressed as such and always cautious while conducting whatever business he had with the latter, he may very well involved in illegal underground business.

The latest of Dr. Phineastein and Ferbgor's creation from Victorian Era.

Perry the Platyborg[]

Perry's 2nd Dimension Counterpart who also a secret agent affiliated with his home reality's O.W.C.A. For a time, he was forcibly turned into a ruthless cyborg by his reality's Dr. Doofenshmirtz until his restoration into his original self thanks to original Perry's help.

Bunka da Bunka Quwonk[]

Perry's prehistoric ancestor introduced in "Tri-Stone Area".

Compared to his modern-day incarnation/counterpart, Bunka doesn't seem to take Doofengung (Heinz Doofenshmirtz's prehistoric counterpart/ancestor) seriously, apathetic even because of how much the latter's stupidity hindered his evil plans to the point of the prehistoric platypus's interference was more than often unnecessary. He's also not the sharpest tool in the shed, overlooking the entrance Doofengung's cave in his determination to stop whatever schemes his nemesis came up to and carrying the bone cage that his nemesis trapped him in while making his leave instead of leaving it.

Master Perry the Platypus[]

Perry's lookalike from (possibly) alternate 1542 China. He is a skilled warrior who gave up that life to meditate on top of the Unclimbable Mountain of Unclimbableness, as well as mentor of Phineas, Ferb, Baljeet, and Buford.

Parable the Dragonpus[]

The draconic counterpart of Perry from a tale in "Excaliferb". He works for King Monopunzel as an agent whose task being protecting Tri-Kingdom Area from threats.

Perry the Platypus (1914)[]

Perry's lookalike from 1914 in "Phineas and Ferb and the Temple of Juatchadoon". He works for Secret Order of the Knights Without a Cool Acronym (SOKWCA), that era's equivalent/predecessor to OWCA.

Trivia[]

Interestingly, certain aspects of Perry's portrayal in the series are closer to real-life platypuses;
- 2020 study on platypuses revealed that they glow in similar color to Perry while under ultraviolet light.
- Platypuses can purr much like Perry himself.
The reasons Dan and Jeff depicted Perry as a platypus are so they may have creative freedom with it and that portraying him as more common pets such as cats or dogs will inspire kid viewers would want their parents to buy the same breed of pets in question.
- In real-life, it would be practically impossible to have a platypus as a pet because male platypuses are actually venomous. However, Flynn-Fletcher family, as well as others who have platypuses as their family pets at least in Danville aparently know how to get around the issue.
  - On a related note, "Primal Perry" confirms Perry possessing venom spurs on his ankles much like real-life male platypuses, which made him extra careful when kicking Heinz Doofenshmirtz as his said nemesis doesn't know such dangerous quirk of his.
