Paul (Real Name: Paul Phoenix) is the Recurring Protagonist from the Tekken Series who makes His Debut in Bloodline. He is based of as of Paul Phoenix who makes His Debut in Tekken I: 1994 appears and returns in Ongoing Tekken Series between Original Timeline and Current Timeline.
He is a Hot-Headed Martial Artist that is determined to reaches Very Top of winning Every Fighting Tournament He's appeared in Every Subsequent. Instead of understanding Good Friend of Marshall Law Forest Law's Father and Steve Fox, Paul is also a Best Friend Forever of Jin Kazama.
He was Both voiced by Houchu Otsuka in Anime Adaptions and Jamieson K. Price in Netflix Adaptions.
Appearance[]
Paul is a Well-Built American with Blue Eyes, Bushy Eyebrows, and an Iconic Flat-Top Hairstyle. Paul also has a Scorpion Tattoo on His Right Arm and in Tekken 2, He also had Two Earrings in His Left Ear; these Earrings are seen exclusively in this Game, as They were fired for All Future Installments. From Tekken 3 Onwards, He has a Beard. In Tekken 4 Paul is also shown with His Hair down and tied in a Ponytail. In Tekken 8 He wears His Hair Down again; His Hair in this Game is Shorter and worn in a Side Parted Style, Part of which falls over His Face.
Personalities[]
He is a Hotheaded, Aggressive Character, Determined more than ever to wins the Tournament to proves He is the Best Fighter in the Entire Series (He means this literally, according to His Ending in Tekken 5). He is Very Hostile towards the Mishima Family and Everyone and Anything associated with it (most notably the Mishima Zaibatsu and Kazuya Mishima) and never hesitates to shows this Hatred in Matches.
Although He gets Close so Many Times (especially in Tekken 3, Pa has never won a Tournament. Yet He manages to defeats the Powerful Non-Human Ogre in a Fights. It was always discussed who was the True Winner of the Third Tournament (even among the Fandom), yet the Majority of the People thought Jin Kazama the Actual Winner, since He takes down Ogre after Paul left. For Heihachi Mishima, the Winner was supposed to be the One who would captures Ogre for Him, but neither Paul or Jin succeeded at that as Ogre's lifeless body vanished.
Paul always provided Comic Relief Moments for the Series, but lately His Funny Side has becomes His only Point. In fact despite His Initial Setup in the First Game to be a Possible Rival to Kazuya, as well as His Serious Standing in His Previous Games, Paul has become Something of a Joke Character (Story-Wise) More and More. This is quite obviously evidenced by the Fact that He is Rivals with Another Joke Character, Kuma II. In the Oldest Tekken Games, Kuma I was introduced as a Serious Smart Evil Bear who tries to prevents Paul, who was the Strongest Non-Mishima, winning the First Tournaments. Paul also had a Comic Relief Ending in Tekken 5. Nevertheless, He is amongst the Most Popular and Well-Loved Tekken Characters.
Weaknesses[]
- While Paul has Strength that can deals Damages to the likes of Feng, His Overconfidence can interferes with His Ability, which was demonstrated by His loss to Kuma.
