~ One-One.

One, or most commonly known as One-One, is the deuteragonist of the Cartoon Network series Infinity Train. He is the deuteragonist of Book One - The Perennial Child, a supporting character of Book Two - Cracked Reflection, the unseen overarching character of Book Three - Cult of the Conductor, and a major character of Book Four - Duet. He is also the main protagonist of The Train Documentaries.

He is the robotic companion of Tulip Olsen who is trying to help her find a way back home. One-One can split into two halves, each with its own personality. The two halves are called Sad-One and Glad-One by the production staff, but as a single unit, they are merged into One, the original identify of One-One. One-One is also the true conductor of the Infinity Train and regains his position at the end of Book One.

Glad-One is voiced by Jeremy Crutchley and Sad-One is voiced by the show’s creator Owen Dennis.

Appearance[]

One-One is a white, spherical robot with a black stripe that runs down the entire circumference of its body. On the front, the black stripe has two white dots that appear to be Sad-One and Glad-One's eyes when they are fused. One-One has four retractable spider-like legs.

The body can easily separate into two identical and independent parts and can reattach itself together again. Each half is semi-spherical in shape with a black line at their base with a single white dot, their eye. The flat base of each half has four spider-like legs, similar in structure to when it was whole.

Personality[]

One-One is a twin robot composed of two independent parts and has two separate personalities. As a single unit, One-One often flickers between the two opposite personalities.

Sad-One[]

As the sad half of One-One, he is an pessimist who practically always talks a monotone voice and acting downcast no matter the situation. Sad-One is almost always in a state of despondency, often shooting down any hopeful remarks. Though Sad-One was always pessimistic, he sometimes drop pearls of wisdom that, ironically, encourages people.

Glad-One[]

As the glad half of One-One, he is an optimist who has a strong happiness, doesn't speak in the voice that is not overjoyed and never deviates from his happiness as he will always sees in his life in the most optimistic way possible. Glad-One is also naive to the point of doing things with reckless abandonment, his naivete, mixed with inherent optimism, makes Glad-One have a strong lack of self-preservation.

Merged[]

At certain times of stress and guilt, Sad-One and Glad-One's personalities can merge into a "single" entity where both sides can talk into each other at the same time. However, in Book Four - Duet, it is revealed (and hinted by Amelia in Book Three, especially in "The Unfinished Car", which this identify was how he originally was before Amelia taking over) that which it was called One instead of One-One, he was far more robotic, apathetic and cold than after, being more focused on what he believes he has supposed to do is to maintain the train, possessing with lack of empathy.
