Mai Zenin is one of the supporting antagonists-turned-supporting character in the Jujutsu Kaisen series. She was a second-year at student at Kyoto Jujutsu High, member of the Zenin clan, and the younger twin sister of Maki Zenin.
Appearance[]
Mai looked just like her twin sister, but with shorter hair. She had medium-length black hair that reached her neck, dark brown eyes, and thin eyebrows.
Mai's school uniform is a traditional training configuration, with Mai shown wearing a long-sleeved tracksuit with black sleeves and shoulders and a white body, along with black pants. Her casual outfit consists of a black sleeveless high-collar shirt, a long black skirt, and black shoes.
Personality[]
Like her twin sister, Mai was abused by the Zenin clan growing up simply because she was a girl with little talent for jiu-jitsu. In contrast, Maki wanted to bully the clan and work as a magician. Due to the effects of Maki's rebellion, Mai was forced to study to become a jiu-jitsu magician. Mai resented Maki for detesting the grotesque task of exorcising the curse and essentially forcing both of them into their lives.
Mai was an unwilling magician who mainly took out her rival and Maki's frustrations on others. She has a mean and rude personality due to her experience. She is crude and she likes to boost her ego. Mai doesn't particularly like Aoi Todo, but she sticks up to him to make herself look stronger. Unlike how she treated Tokyo students, Mai mostly got along well with her peers, especially Momo Nishimiya and Kasumi Miwa. and was visibly disappointed when Mechamaru betrayed their group.
Knowing Maki's high physical ability, Mai acted as if her twin sister was completely incompetent. Mai stabs her directly while preparing for a goodwill event, and also targets her juniors. Mai insults Megumi and Nohara's close friend, the recently deceased Yuji Itadori, by criticizing him for the first few years she met them. ridiculed. She also told Maki that she was worthless because she couldn't even use the cursed energy. Mai entrusts everything to her older sister.
Maki promised Mai that she would be with her when she was young. When Maki left the clan and broke that promise, Mai began calling her a liar. When Mai lost to Maki in a friendly match, she asked why her sister didn't fall into the hole with her. Dissatisfied with Maki's answer, she continued to hate Maki from that point on.
Mai was forced to set aside her feelings for Maki when her own father attacked them. She decided to give Maki the tools to live. Suspecting that she would have to make a tough decision someday, Mai decided to sacrifice herself so that Maki could reach her full potential. Mai asked her sister to destroy everything.
Powers & Abilities[]
Overall Skill Level: Mai was a Grade 3 magician with little talent for jiu-jitsu. She was born with cursed technology and more cursed energy than Maki, but not enough to activate her technology. She always gets things done with the skills she has.
Master of Shooting: Mai is good at shooting, she prefers to shoot from a distance. In close-range interactions, you can hit enemies at close range with cursed energy-infused rubber bullets. She can also fire her signature revolver from a distance with pinpoint accuracy.
