Mai Nanase is a recurring character in online games. She's one of the supporting characters in Taimanin Asagi Battle Arena, Taimanin RPGX & Action Taimanin.
A student at Gosha Academy who uses paper techniques and is an excellent Taimanin.
Appearance[]
Mai has long white hair and red eyes.
Her Taimanin suit is primarily white and blue, with her two sleeves leaving her shoulders exposed.
Personality[]
Shortly after her appearance in TABA, Mai acts rather naive, but is driven by a strong desire for justice.
In her later games, she is given a Dandere-like character where she tends to keep to herself and never speaks unless spoken to. She is serious and calm, but she can't stop talking when it comes to books. Even if she reads several books before going to bed, she often takes responsibility for the books and works on them. She has a habit of talking to origami and controlling it with her own powers, like some kind of imaginary friend of hers. Still, she is an elite and strict girl, and everyone calls her "Mai-chan" and loves her.
She is a close friend of Mari Shinohara, whom she calls her senior even though they are in the same class, and she is a close friend of Kotaro who shares the same hobby as RPGX/Action.
History[]
Mai is a student at Gosha Academy and Mari Shinohara's classmate. As a Taimanin, she has a reputation for paper techniques, and is said to be one of the strongest among paper users. She loves books just like everyone else, and she often stays at Gosha Library.
Taimanin Asagi Battle Arena[]
She and Kotaro Fuuma are tricked by Fürst in disguise and end up going to a facility managed by Felicia. At first, Mai was convinced that the Fuuma Organization was behind the facility, but Felicia, who attacked her, changed her mind. Although she complains to Kotaro, she still considers him "evil" and with the help of her arriving Tokiko Fuma saves her and all three of her are able to escape.
It is unclear whether Mai was captured at this point or simply released once she was safe, as there are no subsequent events regarding her.
Taimanin RPGX[]
In 2083, Mai joins the Independent Rangers in an incident involving Chevalier and an unknown grimoire, including a paper demon. She meets Kotaro at the Gosha Library, and they become reading friends with the same hobbies and interests, and they sometimes interact like an elderly couple, wondering if their personalities and hobbies match.
She appears in a minor event in Scientist Mission in 2084. During the second Igawa Revolt Group attack, she helped to defend Gosha Village.
Action Taimanin[]
In 2082, Mai can join Kotaro in the Taimanin Task Force as a supporter.
Power & Abilities[]
Main Weapon: Paper
- Ninja Art: "Paper Spirit" that strengthens paper by putting particles inside it. It is a highly adaptable ninja technique that can be used in a variety of situations, such as capturing an enemy or turning it into a knife or explosive. Mai can turn paper into a barrier. Paper can also withstand attack from lighting.
- Particle Control: Taimanin can manipulate Taimani particles to enhance their physical strength, speed, and defense. Particles are also used to counter demonic influence and enhance damage to demons.
