Luan Loud is one of the ten deuteragonists of Nickelodeon's The Loud House franchise. She is the fourth oldest of the siblings.
She is voiced by Cristina Pucelli in the animated series and was portrayed by Catherine Ashmore Bradley in the live-action series.
Biography and Personality[]
Luan is the 14-year-old (later 15-year-old) girl and fourth oldest child of her family. She is a fun-loving, goofy and optimistic girl who likes telling jokes and pulling pranks, party clowning and video production. She frequently pull pranks on her siblings and makes puns for every situation. While Luan laughs at others' humiliations and mostly comes off as a nuisance to others, she does it with good intentions and doesn't mean to harm anyone as she only wants to make people laugh.
Through the first season to second season, Luan attends Royal Woods Middle School with Lynn. As of the third season, she now attends Royal Woods High School with Lori, Leni and Luna (but Lori later graduates high school towards the end of fourth season). Luan gives up her comedy at once in "No Laughing Matter" after her siblings insulted her comedy, but at the end, she has her comedy again.
Despite Luan's occasional ruthlessness, she is usually friendly towards her siblings. She is interested for comedy, including comedy movies and televisions, clowns, pranks and funny internet videos. Her most pranking moments that she can dodge people in the face with pies and place a whoopie-cushion on the others' seats. Luan likes to record people the funny situations with her camera, but can be strict ethicist that she asks permission to the person she records and allow her to upload the video to the Internet.
When it comes to April Fools Day in three episodes, Luan portrayed as evil and sadistic prankster which her pranks can be more dangerous than before where she plots to place her pranks and booby traps in the entire house for her family. However, at the end of "Fool Me Twice", she decides to retired from April Fools pranks. In the seven season episode "Dread of the Class", Luan once again become evil who plotted to pull revenge pranks on Ronnie Anne and Lincoln to prevent them from passing final test until she gets pranked by Virginia who rescuing the two. As of the episode "Trouble Brewing", Luan and Lori works at the Burnt Bean where the two now working together.
Appearance[]
Luan has buck teeth and sport silver braces on her upper and lower teeth. She has a light brown hair in a large ponytail with a small swirl at the end by a yellow scrunchie with two long protruding hairs sticking out from the center of her forehead.
She wears a white sleeveless shirt with a yellow skirt and a checkerboard pattern, yellow socks with a line pattern and brown shoes. She also wears three pink flowers on her shirt that serve as gag squirt-flowers. Her prototype design that has a gag flower on her skirt, but none on her shoes and didn't have any braces.
Trivia[]
- In "One of the Boys", her mirror world counterpart is named Lane as he seems to be more in control of his fun-loving impulses in Lincoln's dream, but he portrayed as harsher. He owns a dummy named Mrs. Coconuts, like Luan owns a dummy named Mr. Coconuts. His outfit is similar in color with shorts held up by suspenders, a buttoned shirt and has a bowl cut.
