Kuromi (in Japanese: クロミ, Kuromi) is the self-proclaimed rival of My Melody and a former antagonist in the Hello Kitty franchise. She is the former main antagonist of the anime Onegai My Melody and the titular main protagonist of the 2023 anime web series Kuromi's Pretty Journey.

- In Japanese, she is voiced by Junko Takeuchi.
- In the English dub of Onegai My Melody, she was voiced Emily Woo Zeller.
- In Hello Kitty & Friends Supercute Adventures, she is voiced by Jenny Yokobori, who also voices Cinnamoroll in the same series, as well as Black Lemonade Cookie, Jenny Wakeman, Hatterene, Popuko and Wanda.
Appearance[]
Kuromi is a white rabbit or imp-like creature, wearing a black jester's hat with a pink skull on the front and a black "devil" tail in the place of a normal rabbit's tail. Kuromi's appearance also looks similar to that of classic cartoon characters from the 1920s and 1930s. She sometimes wears fuchsia pink skull cherries on her right ear. In Hello Kitty 7 Friends Supercute Adventures, the eyes of the skull on Kuromi's jester's hat often change to match her actual eyes.
Personality[]
Although Kuromi has a rowdy free spirit, she is actually quite girly on the inside and has a soft spot for cute and handsome guys. Kuromi enjoys keeping a diary and reading romance novels.

Onegai My Melody[]
Kuromi made her debut in the anime Onegai My Melody, where she had a massive hatred towards My Melody due to her making small mistakes that drove Kuromi mad. Kuromi has also stated that Melody has wronged her 6,324 times.
Kuromi reconciles and reikindles her friendship with My Melody in Onegai My Melody: Yu and Ai.
Hello Kitty and Friends Supercute Adventures[]
Kuromi still retains the same rowdy free spirit and secretly girly personality in this show, however, she doesn't have much of a hatred against My Melody as she used to, but she does sometimes hold a grudge against her at times.
