Kotaro Fuuma is the anti-heroic/anti-villainous antagonist-turned-major protagonist of Taimanin Asagi Battle Arena and the main protagonist of both Taimanin RPGX, and Action Taimanin.
The current head of the Fuuma clan who use to be his father to betrayed Gosha Village. Depending on continuity, he becomes the leader of the Fuuma Organization, the Independent Rangers, and the Taimanin Task Force. In RPGX and Action Taimanin, he is often despised as a "Fuuma head with a missing eye".
Appearance[]
Kotaro is a tall young man with olive skin in both RPGX and Action Taimanin. His hair is blue and his left eye is amber. His Taimanin suit is blue, ultramarine, white, black and cobalt. His sash is navy blue with turquoise lines.
His right eye is the evil eye, with a black sclera that can display a red pupil or other colors depending on the use of his abilities. When not aroused or activated, it is normally closed.
Personality[]
The thing about all the continuity is that he's a very smart, analytical, planned, long-term thinker. It oscillates between laid-back and lazy, and takes itself seriously on some missions. Kotaro can think flexibly and is an ordinary person in a sense, but he is also foolish, lazy, and childish. Kotaro has a desire to prove himself and is highly trusted by his friends. Feeling insecure about his family's history and left alone, he hates his father, Danjo, but cares deeply for his sister, Tokiko. Even with his girlfriend Tokiko, if he knows that he is making her angry, he can be quiet.
Kotaro protects his friends and property, and always strives to improve himself. He shows desire and attraction towards his Taimanin colleagues, but is able to control it when necessary. Even when he is insulted, he does not lose his cool and maintains an adult attitude. However, when talking about his father, he quickly loses his cool and can become very rude. In multiple continuities, he also has an interest in video games. In his youth, even at a very young age, he was known for being calm and confident.
Kotaro is much softer in his RPGX and believes more in Taimanin values. At times, he can be very mean to his teammates. He has an inherent desire to dominate and be sadistic, as shown in several scenes. Kotaro sometimes abuses his authority at dating events and deceives his opponents. However, such acts are "consensual" unlike most of his TABA encounters, and not all necessarily reflect his character in major campaigns.
Since he is a student at Gosha Academy, he is putting effort into building his physical strength and research, even though he feels insecure about his unawakened abilities. Kotaro is naturally curious and ambitious, but he does not seek shortcuts to power.
His old friendship with Gaiza fell apart at the beginning of the game, but it was also because of his weakness. His best friends are Hebiko Aishu and Shikanosuke Uehara, with whom he spends the most time. Also, as the game progresses, he develops friendships with Yukikaze, Mari, and others, causing multiple girls to fall in love with him or come to respect him.
In the continuation of the action, Kotaro is the most serious and has few erotic encounters, even if the idea crosses his mind. He supports his classmates and sincerely respects Asagi Igawa and Nobushige Yamamoto. He is childhood friends with Kurenai Shinganji, but he feels inferior to her because she is also from the Fuuma clan. Kotaro, whose abilities have not yet awakened like in RPGX, seems determined to prove his power. He is very angry with Toyo Momochi because he sees him as a dark reflection of himself.
He is already friends with Hebiko Aishu and Shikanosuke Uehara again, but he also has friendly relations with all members of the Taimanin Task Force.
Background[]
Kotaro was born as the son of Danjo, the head of the Fuuma clan, and will become the next head of the family. He was born in 2065 as his one of at least his four half-siblings.
These versions of Kotaro are the result of one of his reset worlds created. He was much younger than his counterpart and was born later.
Kotaro has always had a bad relationship with his father, who sees his "family" as a tool. Nothing is known about Kotaro's mother, but it is likely that she did not have a happy ending, as Danjo often sold her mistresses into slavery when he grew tired of them. Kotarol grew up first in Fuuma village and later in Fuuma mansion in Gosha village. He was only distantly related to the Fuuma clan, including his half-sister Tokiko Fuuma. With Tokiko appointed as his exclusive bodyguard, Tokiko takes on the role of her servant, de facto mother, and her older sister, allowing the two to grow closer as a true family. He also had some interactions with Amane Fuuma, who was sometimes punished for watching over Kotaro and Gaiza.
In 2068, when the Fuma clan lost influence due to corruption, inflexibility, and the idea of a "family before the five companies", the Igawa clan was appointed by the government as its representative. This angered Fuma Danjo, and when Kotaro was three years old, he started a Fuuma rebellion involving many of his family members and clans. Danjo's rebellion failed, but he died in this timeline and was unable to escape. As a result, the Taimanin of the Igawa clan are ordered by the Igawa elders to kill Kotaro and the remnants of the Fuma clan. At this point, Kotaro was considered the successor and representative leader of the Fuuma clan, even though he was still young.
Because many people died for Kotaro, he was able to escape from the burning Fuuma village. Tokiko Fuma takes them away, and the two make a desperate escape. Members of the Fuuma clan, Yaemon Yaguruma and Yao Bikuni, save their lives, as well as the life of Gaiza, a boy of the same age who is Kotaro's childhood friend and a member of another dependent clan. However, both groups separated to create a diversion for their children's members. A group of Fuuma Taimanin led by Kotaro headed to Gosha Village in order to surrender and negotiate peace with Asagi, who is in conflict with the Igawa Presbyterian faction, which is pushing for the complete destruction of the Fuuma clan. Fighting Elder Igawa's bloodhound, Reima Kono, Tokiko, Gaiza, and Kotaro are able to buy enough time before Asagi arrives, who immediately orders a halt to the fighting and welcomes the Fuuma clan into Gosha.
Most of the Fuuma clan, who were loyal to Danzo, hold a grudge not only against the Igawa clan, but also against Kotaro, who allowed the clan to be absorbed into Gosha Village. Kotaro endured a lot of hardship and bullying early in his life, which solidified his determination to become a relevant, useful, or powerful presence in people's eyes. He became the current head of the family after his father's death, was sold to the Gosha clan and the Igawa clan, and was considered unfit to be a leader by many samurai.
From around 2078 to 2080, he left the Danjo Fuuma Loyalists and reunited with Amane, who was chased by Bantetsu Tekkain. Injured, Amane is on her way to Danjo's secret mansion in the mountains when she becomes aware of her activities and meets Kotaro, who was a teenager at this point. Kotaro was researching some of Danjo's documents and documents. All about ninjutsu, which he himself had trouble mastering. However, Amane notices that part of the "document" is a manual on techniques such as bedroom techniques, and teases her that she is "in the midst of adolescence." Despite this, Amane is initially unimpressed and repeats in a whisper the insult Kotaro often used to say to him at Gosha, "Eyeless Fuuma", and Kotaro becomes depressed and wants to learn and help Tokiko and the others. Amane is impressed that Kotaro quickly changes her mind about Kotaro, as she was afraid of her attacker catching up to her, and Kotaro notices the wound and treats it after reading about it in a book. He sends Kotaro out and returns when the ninjas arrive to attack, helping Amane. However, Bantetsu is ready to cough up and slowly kill both Kotaro and Amane. Amane was given a special aphrodisiac by Kotaro and vomited her own blood onto Bantetsu. This aphrodisiac lures out the ninja beast, which goes out of control and attacks Bantetsu, but thanks to Kotaro's quick thinking, Amane breaks free and attacks. Nevertheless, Bantetsu survives and is already turned into a cyborg, before being stabbed by Sango Bunko, another one of Danjo's supporters who considered the idea of attacking children disgusting and against Danjo's wishes. was ready to kill Amane. Bunko ignored Amane's withdrawal and allowed her and Kotaro to escape.
Power & Abilities[]
Main Weapon: Short Sword
- Red Demonic Eye: Kotaro's eyes glow red, allowing him to use Edwin Black's abilities stolen/swapped from the TABA reset. Can only be used in Taimanin RPGX. These all have strong corrupting effects and can lead to demonization, so they cannot be used often in combat.
- Blade of Darkness: Strengthen your weapon with the dark mist blade, which is the power of vampires and demons.
- Self-Healing: Strong self-healing allows you to withstand only one deadly attack.
- Dark Aura
- Tactical Fighter: Physically weaker than many enemies, but smart enough to trap or overwhelm opponents with a little planning. Kotaro is typically weaker than a "monster" level Taimanin if he does not use Evil Eye like TABA. However, he is still a dangerous man who excels in basic swordsmanship and ninjutsu.
- Ninja Arts:"Evil Eye" This power has been lost and can only be possessed by his dark counterpart.
- Particle Control: As a Taimanin, he can manipulate Taimani particles to enhance his physical strength, speed, and defense. Particles are also used to counter demonic influence and enhance damage to demons.
