Knothead and Splinter are the supporting protagonists in the Woody Woodpecker animated series. Knothead is Woody's nephew and Splinter is Woody's niece.
Personality[]
Knothead and Splinter are intelligent, resourceful, and have many adventures. And both tend to be quick to make assumptions and are somewhat superstitious.
History[]
They first appeared in the comic, Get Lost!. Originally, Knothead and Splinter were Woody's relatives from the New Funnies comic. Knothead was Nuthead and Splinter was a male. But in 1949, Nuthead changed to Knothead and Splinter became a girl. In the late 1950s, Knothead and Splinter appeared in both animated cartoons and comic books. Knothead and Splinter had rivals at the time such as Heckel and Jeckel, Chip and Dale, and Goofy Gophers. They also appeared on The New Woody Woodpecker Show and 2018 YouTube series.
