The Seven Princesses of Atlantica, more commonly referred to as the Seven Daughters of King Triton are the seven daughters of King Triton and his late wife Queen Athena, debuting in the 1989 Disney animated feature film, The Little Mermaid.

The Little Mermaid[]

Ariel has six older sisters named Attina, Alana, Adella, Aquata, Arista and Andrina. They perform the song "Daughters of Triton" as part of a concert that Sebastian organized for their father, King Triton, but the concert is abruptly halted when they discover Ariel not where she was supposed to be when it was her cue to appear, much to their shock and fear as this leaves Triton furious at his youngest daughter being a no-show and knowing the reason why. Later, Attina, Andrina, Adella and Aquata make a brief appearance together with Ariel, in what appears to be the palace dressing room. In this scene, Ariel emerges from behind a curtain of seaweed swimming dreamily and hums a few lines from "Part of Your World." The sisters notice a change in Ariel's mood and conclude that Ariel is in love. All six sisters appear again in the end of the film together with Triton, smiling and waving to Ariel after she marries Eric, wishing their youngest sister good luck with her new life as a human with their first and only brother-in-law Prince Eric.

The Little Mermaid (TV series)[]

Just like in the original film, Attina, Alana, Adella, Aquata, Arista, and Andrina have minor roles in the prequel series, however, in some episodes, Alana and Arista respectively are supporting heroines.

The Little Mermaid 2: Return to the Sea[]

In the second film, the sisters play a minor role with only Attina, Andrina, Aquata and Adella having dialogue.

The Little Mermaid 3: Ariel's Beginning[]

The sisters appear at the beginning of the film enjoying some time on the surface with Triton and their mother, Queen Athena, until the fun is interrupted by the approach of a pirate ship. Triton grabs several of the girls, including Ariel, and flees back underwater. Two more dive back in on their own, but Attina, the eldest and heir apparent, gets her tail fin stuck in the rock. Athena frees her in order to give her a chance to escape, but Athena herself is not so lucky when she goes back for the music box that Triton gave her, and is tragically killed when the pirates lose control of their ship, run her over, and then crash it into the rocks, breaking the keel and sinking it. Triton is so devastated by Athena's death that he bans music from Atlantica indefinitely. The girls have to grow up without Athena in their lives as they try to convince their father to allow music in the kingdom again.
