Kagome Higurashi is the main protagonist of Rumiko Takahashi's manga/anime series Inuyasha. She is a 15 (18 by the end of the series) year old girl living in modern day Japan and the reincarnation of the priestess Kikyo who is one day dragged down a well by a demon and transported to a feudal Japanese world where she releases the seal on the title character to stop the demon. However when she accidentally shatters the sacred jewel she and Inuyasha must go on a quest to recover the pieces before they fall into the hands of Naraku.
