Horobi, known as Kamen Rider Horobi, is one of the two secondary antagonists of Kamen Rider Zero-One in the long-running Kamen Rider franchise. In Zero-One Others: Kamen Rider MetsubouJinrai, he served as one of the main protagonists and one of the major protagonists/characters of Kamen Rider Outsiders.
Personality[]
Horobi can be described as quiet, calm, and indifferent. Ruthless in making sure his plans and goals somehow go smoothly. As the leader of MetsubouJinrai.net, he strongly believes that artificial intelligence is superior to humans in every way. He is very exclusive to the Ark, attributed to his loyalty and dedication to cleansing humanity. Outspoken and strong, Horobi doesn't go beyond killing, or at least mortally damaging, those who oppose him. This further fueled his hatred of humans, especially Gai himself.
Horobi is rather stubborn when it comes to his goal of destroying humanity (or destroying humans with a malevolent heart) even after defying the will of the Ark and rescuing Jin with Aruto's help. However, Horobi now chooses to destroy humanity for the Humagear, believing that as long as humans exist, his kind will never be safe from their malice. They even consider the act of destroying humans (with malice) to be "justice."
After becoming Horobi, he lost his programming and memory as a parent-type Humagear, but he called himself Jin's father and showed his true form, such as protecting Jin with his own will. However, Horobi is shown to be insecure and sensitive about his past. When Aruto questions Horobi about his original life and reveals it, the latter sternly orders the former to give him Ikazuchi's Humagear Progrise Key, and when Midori asks about the purpose for which it was actually created, he reveals that Midori After Alto protected him from Thouser and tried to convince him that he had a dream of his true self, Horobi decided to become Aruto's ideal judge and gave his that he want to see if it's good for both goals, so he start respecting him. History[]
Horobi was originally a Parent-Type HumaGear manufactured by Hiden Intelligence 12 years ago. Humagear Designed by Hakase Bot based on Soreo's secret. During the Daybreak Town accident, Horobi is hacked by a newly activated Ark, and Jin, Ikazuchi, and Naki become members of MetsubouJinrai.net, with the goal of wiping out humanity under the Ark's will. He was with the Humagears, side by side. Horobi sent a terrorist video to Satoshi Sakurai at one of the town's main power plants, revealing the existence of MetsuboJinrai.net and declaring his "crusade" against humanity, established a base in the ruins of the town.
In the wake of Korenosuke Hiden's death, Horobi resumes his crusade against humanity. When MetsubouJinrai.net launches "Operation Magia", Horobi orders Jin to use the Zetsumerizer to hack the Humagears and hand over the Zetsumerisekeys. Despite Zero-One's presence, which subdues Magias, Horobi is able to collect data from the damaged Zetsumerisekeys. When he was questioned by Jin, he decided to focus on Ark instead. When Aruto Hiden and Isamu Fuwa set foot in Daybreak Town, they found evidence that MetsuboJinrai.net was involved in an accident that happened 12 years ago, but Horobi decided to keep the existence of Ark a secret. He eventually allowed Jin to find the Progrisekey and become a Kamen Rider, revealing himself to be his "father" and giving Jin the Metsubo Jin Life Riser. and make him follow the protocols of MetsubouJinrai.net. Horobi later employs the use of Assassin Humagear, a new Magia that can grow stronger as he learns, MetsubouJinrai.net later attacks the A.I.M.S. secret laboratory and claims both Gigers and Attache Weapons themselves. As the perpetrator of the Daybreak Town Incident, but the latter quickly defeated him. Following the loss of Dodo Magia and Ikazuchi, Horobi recounts how Jin reached the singularity. A.I.M.S. stormed Daybreak Town and defeated MetsuboJinrai.net, and Horobi and Jin arrived and intercepted the Kamen Riders. Done. After returning Horobi's damaged body to the base and repairing it, Horobi stopped him. After Jin's defeat and MetsuboJinrai's collapse, Horobi's body was returned to A.I.M.S. and is immobilized for the time being.
Horobi reawakened after his body was repaired and is still under the control of A.I.M.S. When the Raiders began to surface in the workplace competition, Horobi claimed that MetsuboJinrai.net's "deceased" comrades were the result of humankind's influence. Fuwa subtly hinted at what was behind giving the Progrisekey technology, subtly hinted at Naki and the crusade will continue. However, Horobi would find out that ZAIA Enterprise Japan possessed the Zetsumerizer technology due to Gai Amatsu's recent hacking of the Humagear. He cursed those humans using the Ark for their wicked purposes. Despite this, he is adamant knowing about Gai who underestimated Humagear and that MetsubouJinrai.net will all move forward according to the will of the Ark. Horobi will eventually be freed from A.I.M.S. Custody with the help of Jin and Naki. He returns to Daybreak Town to reunite with Jin, and is surprised to learn that his creation has no plans to reconnect with the Ark or exterminate humanity. Jin was able to retrieve the Sting Scorpion Progrisekey for Horobi, allowing him to resume his activities as Kamen Rider Horobi. He will notice that there are Horobi put a chip in his brain, stating that it was worth serving as a vessel for Naki.
Days after Gai Amatsu became CEO of Hiden Intelligence, Horobi watched the events unfold while Aruto Hiden regained the means to become Kamen Rider Zero-One. The Humagears continue to offer Jin a welcome to MetsuboJinrai.net, claiming that they cannot control their lives and will need their own network in the form of Ark. Horobi pursued a reorganization of MetsuboJinrai.net by bringing his allies back online. He allowed Naki's data to be separated from Fuwa's A.I. It will be uploaded to the chip and the new HumaGear body. Horobi demands Aruto to hand over the Progrisekey containing Ikazuchi's data. While Aruto questions his motives for following the Ark, Horobi denies that path and attempts to engage Zero-One, but is overwhelmed by Metal Cluster Hopper's strength. However, Jin arrives and receives the Uchuyaro Raiden Progrisekey from Aru. Thouzer manages to gain the upper hand, but after seeing Horobi protect Jin , Alto protects Horobi knowing that his parent's programming still exists despite being under the Ark's influence. He describes how the future can be changed. With Ikazuchi's resurrection into a new body, the four members of MetsubouJinrai.net will finally reunite.
MetsuboJinrai evolves into Kamen Rider Ark-Zero and achieves his goal of fully reviving Ark. In a raid led by Horobi, he stood among his fellow MetsuboJinrai.net members and fought against the forces of mankind. Shortly thereafter, Ark successfully took over the Satellite Zea, making him more invincible than ever. Kamen Rider Zero Two's innovations allowed Aruto Hiden to outperform Ark-Zero in the first battle. persuade others to despite being forced to fight Jin over this, Horobi was able to finish off his son despite his threats. With Zero-Two's help, Horobi once again freed Jin from Ark Zero's influence, ensuring the destruction of the A.I. Regardless, Horobi continued his crusade to destroy humanity.
While Horobi was trying to raise the Magia army, Izu tried to convince him to give up his hatred. Horobi refuses to accept responsibility for Izu's death and remains so fixated on destroying human malice that he has no heart. In a tearful moment with his son, Jin tries to tell him that he has a heart, and just as his system explodes, Jin sacrifices himself to save Horobi. Jin's death sent Horobi into a spiral of grief, and he became another incarnation of Ark due to Azu's manipulation.
After being given the Ark-Scorpion Progrisekey and Zetsumetsu Driver, Horobi confronts Aruto on the day of the final battle and gains access to his final form, the Ark-Scorpion. While defeating him, Aruto sympathized with Horobi's feelings of grief. Horobi later tearfully admitted his guilt for killing Izu and letting Jin die. He wins the final battle by transforming into Zero-One Realizing Hopper, but chose to save Horobi's life so no one had to die anymore. It has been repaired with a body and equipped with a new costume and updated modules. was reunited with his son Jin and had a sincere smile on his face.
Kamen Rider Zero-One: REAL×TIME[]
Three months after the threat of the Ark subsided, Horobi continues to sever malice in his new body to stop the appearance of a new Ark. This comes to fruition when a new incarnation of the Ark arises due to the presence of Rihito Isshiki who sets out to destroy the world and replace it with "Paradise". He joins the front line against the Abaddon Riders as Sting Scorpion and continues to help the Kamen Riders understand S.'s motives and true intentions, coming to the final showdown.
Zero-One Others[]
After the Thinknet crisis, Horobi and Jin continued to live in Daybreak Town peacefully until the arrival of Lyon Arkland, who transforms into Kamen Rider ZAIA. After Jin was captured, Horobi recruited Naki and Ikazuchi to save his son. Joined his teammates to become Kamen Rider MetsubouJinrai, but at the risk of losing his own will. Horobi and his remaining teammates made the sacrifice of fusing once again in order to free the Solds from the effects of the Massbrain System. This was done at the cost of Horobi losing his free will as he was unable to do anything because he killed MetsuboJinrai.net's HumaGear body and annihilated the ZAIA Japan headquarters.
In the aftermath of the collapse of ZAIA headquarters, Kamen Rider MetsubouJinrai continued to pursue Yua Yaiba. This is due to the influence of Horobi, Naki, Jin, and Ikazuchi, who are begging Kamen Riders to end their suffering by destroying Valkyrie Justice, though his Serval damages MetsuboJinrai Driver's power unit, but failed to defeat the runaway rider. When Fuwa transforms into Vulcan Lone Wolf, he manages to defeat Kamen Rider MetsubouJinrai, vaporizing Horobi and the other MetsubouJinrai.net members in the process. Despite the deaths of Horobi and his remaining teammates, the Solds remained free from the effects of the Massbrain System.
Kamen Rider Outsiders[]
Horobi was rebuilt by Foundation X before reviving Desast as part of Project Outsiders. However, Horobi soon broke up with them and sided with Zein in an attempt to eradicate the Ark's influence. He also allied himself with Nico Saiba. After meeting Ren/Kamen Rider Kenzan and destroying Magia's army, he warned him of the current threat.
Horobi later appeared during the battle between Desast and Ren Akemichi, attempting to destroy Megiddo, which he perceived as evil. Before he could finish off Desast, Ren interfered and knocked him out. Possessed by Ark, Ark used his body to become Kamen Rider Ark-Zero. After Kamen Rider Desast defeated Ark-Zero, Horobi regained consciousness and Nico intervened to protect him. Afterwards, Nico and Horobi talk about their situation, concluding that they need the assistance of Hiden Intelligence to support Zein through Kamen Rider Chronicle.
After being freed from Ark's possession by Desast, Horobi later encountered Tenjuro Sakano who used to be Gold Drive and been demolished in demise by Go Shijima from eight years. Then later resurrected and transforms into Bronze Drive.
