Shojo Hatsumi

Hatsumi Shojo is one of the supporting characters and the anti-heroine in Taimanin RPGX. She has only recently discovered her Ninja Art and is completely out of control.

Appearance[]

Hatsumi has red hair and green eyes, her Taimanin outfit is black and grey with kusazuri and symbols.

Personality[]

Born as a civilian, Hatsumi has a bright and energetic personality. She jokingly uses her charm to ask others for help, and combines her drive and sense of adventure to stay on the straight path.

She has a habit of visualizing her goals and her desires, and her special calligraphy display in her room features a piece of paper with the word "Taimanin" written on it.

Because she hasn't grown up as a Taimanin, she sometimes treats battles like a game and is naive. In any case, she is determined to honor her growing up, deceased family, live up to their expectations, follow in the footsteps of her police father, and protect others. She can befriend demons and deal with strange situations surprisingly quickly. In her stressful situations, she sometimes loses her cool and still lacks her nerve and can get nervous.

Hatsumi was particularly interested in the story of her Taimanin Inage, a simple peasant girl turned dragon killer, and connected it to her own struggles. She can be emotional, and she has internal conflicts and frustrations about who she is and what she wants.

As for her dark side, from an early age she had dark urges and desires to get what she wanted no matter what. On the other hand, she often regrets depriving a stuffed animal from her friend in her childhood and knows that it is bad, but she has a desire to receive and act without restraint. She felt that it was good to be driven by this. In some conversations, it is implied that although she is honest, she lives up to other people's expectations and sometimes she doesn't do what she really wants. Ever since she awakened to ninja arts and absorbed her magic blade, her strong urge to "that all she wants is hers" has secretly become stronger. This effect is also similar to inner demons and demonization, and can be like a voice that drives her to her downfall. In the worst case scenario, a "crush" could turn into an obsession to kill her lover, and she could become completely homicidal. As a result, she is actually being watched by the teachers of her five companies.

History[]

A Taimanin from Gosha Academy who has fused with the Demon Blade. Hatsumi is the daughter of a police officer, she grew up as an ordinary person without knowing anything about demons or Taimanin. At one point during her childhood, she ended up stealing her friend's stuffed animal. Because "she wanted it," a memory that sometimes appears, especially under stress.

Having an accident with her demon, her own ninja arts were awakened before she was killed, and she fused with one of the demon's weapons and killed the demon while in a trance. Because her magical weapon had the power to corrupt her, Asagi Igawa and her other Taimanin decided to move her with her mother to Gosha Village to watch over her. They don't know about detached objects, but that can't be possible. Hatsumi becomes a Taimanin and tries to protect others, but struggles to master her own ninja techniques. Her teachers watching over her worried that in the worst case scenario, she might turn into a demon herself and she would have to be put down. From this point on, Hatsumi has trouble using her own Ninja Art, and is especially confused about the "philosophy" and state of mind required for it, but she has a drive to become stronger.

She aspires to train to become a Taimanin, and she accompanies Kotaro Fuuma to the Gosha Library to learn about the demon world and its kings and queens. While Kotaro talks with Shisui Amemiya about her past world, which she cannot remember, Hatsumi discovers her documents related to her own ninja arts. Since she had no other users in the village, Hatsumi wanted to know more, so she showed Kotaro the legend of Taimanin Natsu, who defeated the Old Dragon with the same ninja technique.

Wanting to know more, she persuaded Kotaro Fuuma and obtained the cooperation of Hebiko Aishu and Shikanosuke Uehara. One of the Brain Flayers, Latticour also followed, curious about the Ancient Dragon he had defeated. On their way to a small village, the group connects as Kotaro talks about his connection to Black and his struggles with ninja arts. Hatsumi also said that she wants a cute ninja costume like Yukikaze Mizuki because she is not allowed to do it yet.

When they arrive, Latticour discovers that a portal to another world has been left open from abandoned Brain Flayer technology. The portal led to the demon world, and the group entered there. As Hatsumi realized where they were, she remained hopeful to learn more. Kotaro quickly leaves and makes a phone call himself, learning from Asagi that Hatsumi can be potentially dangerous and should be considered her enemy if she loses control. However, Kotaro and the others allow the investigation to continue in hopes of finding something that will help Hatsumi. When Kotaro returned, he did not tell the others about the contents of the phone call.

The group found Rola, one of the Nomad's apprentice and one of the Hell Knights, and rescued Hatsumi from a group of Dark Wasps. Rola was giving Blood Lord a letter from Edwin Black on her secret mission, but she accidentally shared the letter with him, leaving her a little lost. The group helped her find the village she stopped at, and the group continued to investigate the dragon ruins together. Carla Cromwell herself disguised herself, and noticing the strange connection between Kotaro Fuuma and Black, she secretly followed the group.

When the group arrives at the ruins in the forest, they are surprised by a large number of thieves, and all of them drop their weapons and Hatsumi is taken hostage. But in her fear and anger she lost her consciousness and ended up picking up her thief's knife without being able to draw her blood. When the thief's blade began to fuse with her, Carla arrived and used her powers to remove the knife from her body. Realizing that they are not the enemy, Fuuma's group begins to run away, but Carla uses powerful blood magic to kill the thieves. Rola, who introduced herself as "Rola the Witch" rather than Bloodlord, almost blew her Karla's cover. According to Carla herself, she and Taimanin Natsu sealed the ancient dragon Cuelebre, but recently the sealing had become unstable due to the thieves of the ruins mentioned above. Hatsumi wakes up shaken and is told by Fuuma what he talked about with Asagi. Hatsumi was afraid that she would become a demon and she would no longer be human. She was appeased by others who stated that the line between demons and humans is thin and there are no "pure humans."

The group continues deeper into the dragon, where Kara prepares a plan to create a sealing spell that requires the others to scratch the scales on the dragon's head to draw blood. Carla also gives Hatsumi words of encouragement and further understanding of her art, and along the way Hatsumi is able to kill Brain Dog, which was feeding on the dragon's miasma.

The group fought Cuelebre, but were unable to properly damage it. Carla asks Hatsumi if she wants her power, and she says, "take all" and she listens to her inner voice, which tells her to follow it. She was able to use the demon blade from her body, and Hatsumi gave her final cut to the damaged beast, allowing Carla to reseal it. Fuuma was worried about Hatsumi's somewhat sinister expression, but since Carla and the group split, she was happy to have control over her own Ninja Art.
