	~ Gru reading his own book that he made to the girls about how having a family along with being a dad, changed his whole life around.

The Gru Family are the main protagonists in Illumination's Despicable Me franchise. They often go on adventures to stop dangerous super villain's from destroying or taking over the world.

Felonious Gru Sr.- The father of the family, he was once a supervillain who's goal was to become the greatest villain of all time by stealing the moon. He adopted three girls by the name's of Margo, Edith, and Agnes as a part of his plan to help him steal the shrink ray from Vector. He would end up growing a bond with the three girls and taking his role as a adoptive father seriously, he would regret sending them back to the orphanage saving them from Vector after he was holding the girls for ransom. He would redeem himself from being a villain to be a good parental figure to the girls, he would later become a secret agent for the Anti-Villain League where he would meet Lucy Wilde, the two of them got married together.
Lucy Wilde-Gru- The mother of the family and a agent working for the organization known as the Anti-Villain League, she and Gru would team up together to take down El Macho from taking over the world by using his rabid minion army which he created with the PX-41 Serum, which can mutate who ever is injected by it into a purple hostile monster with superhuman strength. Her and Gru would later get married where they would have there first biological son Gru Jr.
Margo Gru- The oldest of the three girls that Gru adopted she is the most mature out of all of them acting as a big sister to both Edith and especially Agnes, she would help in the defeat of El Macho by using the jelly that Dr. Nefario had made as a antidote to stop the PX-41 Serum. She appears in several of the shorts that were made for the series.
Edith Gru- The middle child of the sisters, she is much like her father as she is very mischievous, she acts like a tom boy. She helped in the fight against El Macho by using jelly guns that Dr. Nefario made, despite her love for danger she is shown to be a great sister such as when Agnes found a one-horned goat believing it to be a unicorn. She decided to not tell her the truth to let someone else blow her bubble, and beating up a karate teacher for making Agnes cry.
Agnes Gru- the youngest sister of the girls she is very sweet, kind, caring, and overall compassionate personality. She has a child like mentality believing in fairy tale creatures such as a unicorn for example which makes since as she is only a six-year old girl, she is shown to be protective of her family as seen when she joined Gru to help bring down El Macho and his purple minion army.
Gru Jr.- The only biological kid of Gru and Lucy, he is the only boy in the family. Gru Jr. is 16 months years old, he at first had a strong dislike towards his father while having a strong like for his mother. He was captured by Maxime La Mel for his revenge plot against Gru, turning the baby into a cockroach hybrid. He would break free of being brainwashed by Maxime assisting his father in defeating his frenemy.
Dru Gru- Gru's twin brother, who unlike his brother has hair instead of being bald and is shown to very rich. He wants to follow in his father's footsteps of becoming a villain, but he is too incompetent to be a actual villain. He and Gru having a falling out for a while but say sorry to each other when they go to to rescue the girls from Bratt. Dru would save his brother's life from certain death from Bratt after wrecking his giant robot, by the end of the movie he takes some of the minions with him and go's to commit some crimes as someone has to keep "The family tradition alive."
Marlena Gru- The Mother to both Gru and Dru, she was a terrible parent to Gru not ever being proud of anything he did, which made Gru felt like he had to impress her. By the end of the first film she tells Gru that he is a great parent much like herself, she did start warming up to Gru acknowledging he's accomplishments such as having his own family.
Robert Gru- Better known by his villain alias "The Bald Terror" was the father to Gru and Dru along with being the ex-husband to Marlena Gru. He and Marlena went through a rough divorce both of them taking one son to raise on their own, Robert took through under his wing to become a supervillain just like he once was, however Robert would become disappointed in Dru for failing to meet his expectations. On the other hand he was proud of Gru for his villainous deeds he did over the years.
Kyle Gru- The family's pet "dog" who is aggressive towards anyone he comes across, he later grows a fondness for the girls warming up to Agnes the most out of all three of them, It is confirmed that he is a mix of a dog and a piranha which explains his sharp teeth.
Lucky The Goat- Another pet of the family, Lucky is a one-horned goat that Agnes found in the middle of a forest which a man said he found a unicorn at, she would grow a huge attachment to him still accepting him even after she found at he wasn't a unicorn.
