Grappler

The Grappler is one of the playable characters and also one of the anti-heroes/anti-villains in both Dungeon Fighter Online and DNF Duel.

A warrior from Suju, a country west of Arad, famous for Suju fighting art, a local martial art that emphasizes kicking attacks. The Grappler is a male fighter steeped in the teachings of the Black Opal Ring, a nomadic "dojo" of male fighters who resent the spread of Suju fighters across the continent and seek to destroy wealthy dojos to redistribute their funds. To facilitate a primarily indoor fighting environment, members of the Black Opal Ring adopted a fighting style not too different from female grapplers found elsewhere, eventually taking on similar titles to conceal their identities.

History

A warrior with a black pearl ring who has traveled all over the country, barging into renowned dojos and challenging them to head-on battles. He believes that fighting strong opponents is the essence of martial arts, and will not accept anything other than the desire to become stronger. However, he tends not to challenge dojos with good reputations, and instead targets unscrupulous dojos that extort offerings under the guise of protection, crushing them along the way. He is currently continuing his training deep in the mountains to escape the ransom demands of the Suju Kingdom.
