You don't butt in line! You don't sell drugs! You don't molest little children! You don't profit off the misery of others! The rules were set a long time ago! They don't change!
~ Crimson Bolt

Crimson Bolt is the alias of Frank Darbo is the main protagonist of the 2010 movie Super. He is an awkward but kind-hearted man who is stricken with vivid hallucinations and depression after his wife is taken away from him by an evil club owner and drug dealer known as Jacques.

Physical Appearance []

Frank Darbo is portrayed as a middle-aged, pudgy, blundering man who stands at around 6'2 inches tall. Self described as ugly, he has "uncombable hair" as he describes, a round face and a weak chin. Despite being taller than most others his awkward presence makes him less then intimidating.

But as the Crimson Bolt he gives the illusion of having a much more threatening appearance. News Stories on him mistake him for a large, muscular man standing at 6'5 inches tall and having dark eyes. His costume is that of a homemade red jump suit with patches riddled throughout, he has an emblem ironed onto his chest, pads around his shoulders and knees, and a simple ski mask with a helmet. While later on in the film he upgrades to a bullet proof vest with a utility belt.

Personality[]

Growing up with a less than desirable childhood, he describes his life as one with pain, humiliation, and rejection. This is most likely due to his awkward demeanour and his doormat like personality.

He is very religious and always upholds his morals to a T, refusing even to curse. This is most likely due to his strict father beating Christianity into him at a young age. He is also shown to be very mentally unstable having multiple hallucinations of God and the Devil as a child and even believing that his personal hero The Holy Avenger wants him to become the Crimson Bolt.

He is also shown to be extremely loyal to his friends and loved ones. Shown to do anything possible to get his wife (Sarah) back from Jacques, even if it means becoming a vigilante. He is also shown to care deeply about his sidekick Boltie.

Powers/Skills[]

While not having any real super powers or any professional training. His delusional and mental illness make him extremely unpredictable and dangerous.

Weaponry: At the beginning of his career as a vigilante, he is shown to carry around a wrench which he uses to beat criminals with. But later on in the film he is shown to carry a multitude of firearms, from semi-automatics to hand guns. He also has bombs, knives, and other gadgets which he invented for the purpose of taking down Jacques

Brutality: He is shown to be incredibly savage and vicious to anyone he sees as morally corrupt. Even bludgeoning two people with a wrench who "butted" in line. He has no remorse  for criminals and is willing to kill, maim, and injure anyone who is viewed as evil.

Determination: When he sets his mind to something Frank is shown to go to the ends of the earth to complete his tasks. When shown that Jacques will be the most difficult criminal he will have to face, he educates himself in weapon building and firearms so he is able to take him on to win his wife back.

Unshakable Morality: His morals are unwavering and he is prone to lashing out at those who fail to live up to his higher standards
