Dr. William White is a supporting character in Mighty Number 9. He is the founder of Mighty Numbers, which includes Beck, the main protagonist. He is a friend of Dr. Sanda and a researcher at SANDA Technologies. His real name is Bill Blackwell.
Appearance[]
Dr. White is a young white male of average height and slim build. He has green eyes and brown hair styled like a large afro. He wears a slightly worn lab coat with a tear at the end, a dark orange shirt, dark blue pants, and green and yellow slip-on shoes. He is carrying a blue satchel on his left hip, supported by two brown belts around his waist, and has a triangular shape, the same as the one depicted on Beck's headphone-like cover. It is decorated with a symbol of three points connected by a shaped line.
Personality[]
Dr. White is an accomplished roboticist who shows passion and pride in his work. He strives to make progress in his field in the name of progress, not for financial gain. But his desire to realize the potential of robotics, while learning from his mistakes, can sometimes lead him to create powerful experimental designs and systems that yield unexpected results. Dr. White is described as "young, but socially inept". Although he is usually calm and analytical in the face of crisis, he can also seem obnoxiously aloof at times, although this seems unintentional. His enthusiasm for advances in robotics puts him at odds with his more cautious father, who chides him for being reckless. Because of this, he also seems to hold a grudge against his father and his former employer, Cherry Dynamics. He changed his identity and quit Cherry Dynamics after an apparent falling out with them. Dr. Sanda seems to be the only one of his companions who knows about his past.
Abilities[]
Dr. White is a highly skilled mechanic and programmer specializing in robotics. He designed several powerful combat robots, including Mighty Numbers and many of the various enemy robots. He designed and wrote his AI, although it took time to perfect them. For the first robot that can assimilate Xels into itself and copy characteristics from other robots. By coding artificial heart routines, he created the first robot with human-like senses and intelligence.
