Derek Hale is a main character in the MTV series Teen Wolf. He was portrayed by Tyler Hoechlin.

He is a werewolf who serves as a mentor for Scott McCall when the latter obtains lycanthropic powers. In Season 1, he is suspected of biting Scott but it turns out it wasn't him and he helps Scott master his powers. He also reveals that he has a seemingly paralyzed uncle, Peter Hale who is the Alpha who bit Scott.
