Cross is a playable character and the anti-hero/anti-villain on the 2D platform fighter online video game Brawlhalla. He's a unhurried, high-powered, thrill-seeking and devilish mobster, a guileful hitman and survived the police clampdowns, the mafia battles and supernatural assassins.
History[]
While in Italy with Allied army, Private First Class Joseph Cross discovered an ancient double-headed coin. That night, he dreamed of the devil and made a deal with him. The devil will fight for him, and "after the final battle" the devil will receive his reward.
After the war, the underworld of New York was shaken by the advance of a terrifying new force. Cross' organization took over and was soon increasing in numbers, protecting, and extorting in all five boroughs. At night, the enemy receives a personal visit from what Cross and the survivors call the "living shadow." For many years Cross owned the town.
As Cross became obsessed with his wealth and power, he became deeply involved in the occult. He roams the wizarding blood of New York, amassing magical artifacts and a huge henchman. However, after Cross obtained Belzar's Shroud Gauntlet, things began to deteriorate. Strangers appeared in the city looking for him. He is a strong-looking man who wears an old-fashioned cloak and ancient weapons. Fighting cloaked vigilantes with fists and guns was much more difficult than scaring New York thugs. But Cross, along with the devil's minions, continued to have his own ideas.
Valhalla is the ultimate loophole in a deal with the devil, and the fearsome yet charismatic gangster holds his place in the grand tournament through his love of battle and fear of the alternative. But now Cross and the Devil are making a new bet, and like-minded legends are making their own bets.
