Clone Troopers are identical, genetically modified soldiers and Clones of Jango Fett for the Jedi and the Galactic Republic to fight along side during the period of the Clone Wars in the Star Wars prequel trilogy, in the 2008 spin-off film Star Wars: The Clone Wars and in the follow-up TV show of the same name. They were created by Sifo-Dyas to combat the the Separatists in the last years of the Republic. Near the end of the Clone Wars, the Clones were ordered by Darth Sidious (The Sith persona of Chancellor Palpatine) to follow Order 66, which activated their secret inhibitor chips that compelled them to view the Jedi as traitors to the Republic that needed to be executed, leading to them betraying and/or killing Jedi Knights, some survived by going into hiding.
They later became the first Stormtroopers, before being replaced by human recruits.
Many Clones Troopers were decommissioned from the Empire and went to retirement while some were able to disobey Order 66 and fought alongside with the Rebel Alliance against the Empire.
