Christane Friedrich, known as Chris, is one of the main heroines/female protagonists of Maji de Watashi ni Koi Shisai! anime and manga. She's one of the members of Kazama Family, the only German member as Kawakami Academy's transfer student and one of Yamato Naoe's lovers in Majikoi and Majikoi! S.

She loves Japanese culture and the reason she came to Japan is to recognize her interest in Japanese culture and things related to Japan. Naturally, Chris is familiar with Japanese history as well as her family's military background, making her a strategist and a leader when called upon. Chris was used to be an antagonist in Kazuko Kawakami's route as a semi-finalist contestant in the exam as an assistant teacher, but she was unaware of Kazuko's situation and only participated in the tournament for her own entertainment.

Chris represents Rectitude, one of the seven virtues of martial arts.

Appearance[]

Chris is a fair-skinned German woman with waist-length blonde hair tied with two red ribbons in a pigtail-like hairstyle, blue eyes, and a love spot under her left eye.

Personality[]

Chris is a kind girl who is friendly to everyone, and although she has a good sense of justice, she is sometimes not very flexible. She considers herself to be a knight who protects the weak, perhaps because she has a military education. Chris is very strict and serious in the way she does things. She values her concepts of duty, justice and responsibility very highly, and she tends to look down on people of a mean or insidious nature.

Under the influence of her father, Chris became fascinated with Japan and the spirit of martial arts through her word bushido. She started taking Japanese culture and Japanese language lessons, and she eventually became fluent. However, she was given false information about Japan by her German friends, who did so in good humor. As a result, she turned Chris into a foreigner with the wrong ideas about Japan. She also has a clear voice. Since she is the commander's daughter, she also has the conversational skills of a leader. In addition to that, she very naively believes what her German friends said about Japan. Also, since she has never been to Japan before, she mostly believes what Yamato Naoe says about Japanese customs, which often ends up being comical after she learns the truth about the customs.

This way of looking at things coincidentally coincided with the protagonist of the historical drama she had been watching, which led her to study not only the code of Bushido but also Japanese history on her own.

Due to her honest and straightforward personality, she is not good at sarcasm in social circles, and she is sometimes teased by Yamato. Even though many of the boys at Kawakami Academy are in love with her, the boys don't get close to her because of her overprotective father and her "sister". Since she is a tsundere, she often fights with Yamato, but she never has any bad intentions. She loves sushi by cooking fried tofu skin in a sweet soy-based sauce, draining it, and stuffing it with sushi rice. She is so weak against alcohol that she can even get drunk on river water.
