Chloé d'Apchier anime concept

Chloé d'Apchier is a titular antagonist-turned-titular character from Jun Mochizuki's The Case Study of Vanitas. A vampire believed to be infected with the Marnomen, and a central figure in Gévaudan's Beast Arc. She lives in the Gévaudan district known as the "Silver Forest", for which she earns the title of Silver Witch.

Appearance[]

Chloé is actually quite old, but in appearance she is a short, prepubescent girl. Her skin is pale, her body is still thin and small, and she has not acquired any traits that indicate her physical maturity. Her face is very round, with a small, pointed chin, thin eyebrows, a small nose, and gray eyes with thick lashes. She has wavy silvery short hair that flows freely down to her ear level, parted at her center and her long bangs down to the center of her face.

Personality[]

Chloé can be cold and aloof, but she is basically kind to others and takes her responsibilities as the Marchioness of the d’Apchier family very seriously. As Chloé herself says, she has a jealous personality and will always seek revenge on anyone who hurts her allies or her friends. She often ignores her social boundaries and can be very curious about outsiders to her. She likes spending time outdoors and walking in the woods.

Contrary to her appearance, Chloé is actually over 200 years old. Because of her maturity and her knowledge, she is able to escape August Ruthven's vampire curse, which she believes is impossible for other vampires to escape. Chloé is also very good at handling her machine.

Power & Abilities[]

Chloé, a vampire, has strength, speed, and endurance far superior to the average human by enhancing her physical abilities through World Formula intervention. Despite her prepubescent body, Chloé is older than any vampire ever seen, and the powers she wields reflect her age. She easily overwhelms an adult male like Noe, stunning him instantly with a single slap. She can also send out a whip of energy that slashes and tears at whatever she aims at, whether it's her entire surroundings or focused on her single spot.

The World-Style Modifier: For centuries, the House d'Apchier devoted themselves to the study of the World-Style and how to interact with it as humans, eventually culminating in the form of the World-Style Modifier. Chloé, the longest-lived Dapsier and the only survivor, knows how to manipulate it better than anyone in the world. She knows how it works, how to rewrite her World Formula, and how to use it to carry out her orders. Once she is at her helm, she can even use it to force Naenia into her physical form, inadvertently performing the impossible and resurrecting the Vampire Queen Faustina.

Malnomen: If Chloé is willing to give up her true name, the Malnomen she contracts is Millie, Theater of Ice and Snow. Millie's primary power is to create an enclosed space that holds an entire closed world generated from the memories of those who possess the curse. Chloé's influence and the general extent of her power is so great that her Malnomen expands to encompass the entire forest she lived in, and nearly all of Gévaudan when her infection progresses far enough. To do. It even recreates entire "people" based on Chloé's memories. However, they are not true versions of these people, and look and act based on how Chloé remembers and perceives them. These memories, and all memories generated from them in a closed space, are played repeatedly until the person with the curse dies.

With Queen Faustina's kiss, Chloé's Malnomen are forced to reach the apex of their most dangerous state. Going this far, Millie grants Chloé some additional destructive abilities and removes any remaining reason within her. With Chloé at its center, her sick powers draw in surrounding matter, derailing its gravity and causing entire chunks of Earth to begin floating weightlessly in space. Chloé herself floats in the air as a formless, fog-like apparition, and she acts recklessly with the intention of destroying herself and all around her. She can also create and manipulate wolf-shaped familiars formed out of the same black mist that she composes, following her orders and attacking whatever she wishes.

Unlike most Malnomen, Millie must heal the will of those with curses. If she uses the reverse operation without the will of releasing the infected, she will lead to the death of those with the curse. Additionally, upon her healing, Millie asked Vanitas to amplify the power of the Book of Vanitas with her mark of possession, which speaks to the might of the Malnomen.
