Reformed heroes are those who start out with corrupting qualities, sometimes were once villains, but later subvert them.

A subcategory of heros in this category are Wholly Reformed heroes, who ultimately manage to subvert all of their corrupting qualities.

Usually, Redeemed Villains fall under this category, but exceptions exist if they fully corrupt themselves or if they are not fallen but never shed any of their corrupting qualities.

Examples (excluding Redeemed Villains) are:

  • Woody, who was very jealous of Buzz Lightyear until their friendship leading to his change of heart.
  • Shrek, who used to be hostile and aggressive ogre due to being treated like a monster until his life changed upon meeting Donkey and Fiona.
  • Merida, who used to be short-tempered and rebellious princess who constantly disrespecting her mother out of frustration until they reconciled.
  • Lincoln Loud, who wanted to become the Duke of Loch Loud to get attention from everyone else before he passed his crown onto Angus and reformed his selfish ways.
  • The Powerpuff Girls, who in certain episodes obtained corrupting qualities as greed, candy addiction, control freak, lethalness, etc., although it is due to the fact of being manipulated, confused, mischievous or frustrated, or the mixture of the 4, but at the end of said episode they end up subverting it since they tend to learn from their mistakes and becoming better heroines.

Please do not add heroes here who have only faked corrupting qualities (e.g. Fix-It Felix, Jr., Finn McMissile, and Ms. Sara Bellum). Those heroes should go under Misguided Heroes and/or False Antagonist instead. This category is only for heroes who once had genuine corrupting qualities but ended up subverting/losing them.

Also, heroes who originally had other prevention like being too standard, too incompetent, or too amoral, but got more admirable, more competent, or more personality, motives, and characterization should not be added here either.

It is possible for non-Pure Good heroes to be Wholly Reformed, but only if they are standard, incompetent, amoral, fail the admirable standard, and/or reliant on Fridge Brilliance, and the rest of their corrupting qualities are only debatable if any, as examples who subvert all of them exist (e.g. Princess Peach and Sergeant Calhoun). In some cases, they might not fully become wholly reformed, but come extremely close to it (e.g. Pikachu, Woody, and Wreck-It Ralph).

Their villainous equivalent is Debased.

NOTE: Do not add the Fallen category unless they subverted few of their corrupting qualities and would rather stayed like this (e.g. Steven Universe). Even in cases a fallen hero may look reformed (e.g. Daffy Duck, Stan Smith, Mario, Lena Luthor, Cho Sang-woo, Rigby, Riku, Discord, Tom Cat, Bowser Junior, Brooklyn T. Guy and Woody), if they have corrupted themselves away from it then they can no longer qualify. If the hero is already corrupted, you may remove this category.
