Blu (full name "Tyler Blu Gunderson") is the main protagonist of the Rio franchise. He is a blue macaw who is thought to be the last male of his kind since Marcel and his gang of smugglers plans to sell him. He is also Jewel's husband, the father of Carla, Bia and Tango, the son-in-law of Eduardo and Linda's pet bird.
