Ashley Ashra is the titular character and the major antagonist-turned-supporting deuteragonist in Code Geass: Akito the Exiled.
Personality[]
A rough, impulsive, and arrogant man who believes that only luck governs life, he shows that he has little regard for his own life, as he "owns" an abundance of good fortune. Although he is reckless with his own life, he values the lives of his comrades very much, and if he is killed in battle, he is determined to take revenge, no matter how long it takes. He was also a troop leader within the Holy Order of Michael
History[]
Ashley stated that he was abandoned by his parents but was raised as Shin Hyuga Shing, which earned him his respect and loyalty. Ashley said that now that Shin was the new Grand Master, he was eager to lead the Asura attack force. He led the Holy Knights of Michael against the EU's W-0 squadron in the Battle of Slonim. His knights ambushed the European Nightmare while Ashley himself engaged Hannibal's ghost, Akito Hyuga. The Knights manage to destroy all the drones and begin to overwhelm the pilots as Akito's Geass influence spreads to other W-0 pilots. Under new bloodlust, the EU has turned the tide.
Ashley engages in a fierce battle with various wyvern forces and manages to hold off the ferocious Akito. Eventually Akito defeated him, but when the European and Japanese pilots landed the decisive blow, John Fabius sacrificed his life for Ashley by interfering with Akito's attack. With his last breath, John wished his commander good luck.
Johann's sacrifice seemed to frighten Akito, who stood stunned as the Geass spirit threatened the other pilots. Without bloodlust, Michael's knights rallied and neutralized the remaining of his W-0 Nightmares.
Taking advantage of the stunned Akito, Grand Master Shin marches into action and nullifies Hannibal's ghost. When Shin orders Akito to retreat, Ashley demands that he continue fighting, but he reluctantly agrees to retreat, taking the bodies of his fallen comrades and Nightmare with him.
Some time after the battle, he is sent to retrieve the Ark of Greenland and receives a new Nightmare, Ahuramazda. They fought when Akito and his friends attacked the airship. After a fierce battle with Akito, he is defeated due to Akito's reckless behavior. Before Ashley was killed by Akito, other members of W-0 stopped her friend before crushing Ashley in Alexander's hands. Akito then broke out of Nightmare, giving Ashley a chance to take revenge on his friend. Ashley hesitated, but when he pulled the trigger, it turned out there were no bullets left in his gun. Afterwards, the two reconcile, but they are interrupted when a bomb that Shin plants on the ship explodes.
Ashley, who survived the explosion, formed an alliance with W-0 and swore revenge on Shin who sacrificed herself. He is attacked by Jean Lowe, who claims to be her traitor, but he comically shouts back, calling her her traitor. After Akito rescued Leila Malcal and Claus Warwick, Ashley took them back to the boat, at which point Ashley joined Europa United.
