Aries Shion is one of the prominent characters of Saint Seiya. In the series, Shion is the former Grand Pope of Sanctuary and one of the survivors of the crusade in the 1700s. He was also the mentor and predecessor of Aries Mu and Kiki, who would eventually become the successor to Aries' Golden Cloth shortly before his death as the former guardian of the 1st House of Sanctuary. Later, Shion was one of the Saints who was been revived with Saga, Camus, Shura and the other Specters in the Hades arc as an antagonist.
