| ~ Félix during his transformation into Argos. |
Félix Fathom, known as Argos is a major character of Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir, serving as the titular main antagonist of the episode "Félix", a major antagonist of Season 4, a major anti-hero of Season 5 and a recurring character of Season 6. He is Adrien Agreste's identical cousin who is revealed to be a human Sentibeing created by his late abusive father Colt Fathom.
Initially appearing as an antagonist whose quest to gain the Peacock Miraculous (and his freedom with it) resulted in him giving his uncle Gabriel Agreste the majority of the Miraculouses in the Chinese Miracle Box, he ends up redeeming himself after realizing the gravitas of his actions in the episode "Emotion" and joins the French Miraculous superhero team in "Re-creation".
He is voiced by Bryce Papenbrook, also voiced his cousin Adrien Agreste/Cat Noir.
Appearance[]
Physical appearance[]
Félix is tall with blond, combed-down hair and bright green eyes. He is borderline identical to his cousin Adrien. The only noticeable differences are their clothes and the different ways they style their hair.
Civilian attire[]
He wears a light gray, long-sleeved dress shirt with a black neck tie underneath a dark gray vest, dark gray dress pants, and black dress shoes.
As Flairmidable[]
Given that his appearance is similar to Cat Noir's, Flairmidable has messy hair which, unlike Cat Noir's, doesn't cover his ears. His outfit consists of an orange suit with white on his torso and arms and dark-grey parts on his shoulders and legs. His weapon, a ball, hangs on and white boots with dark grey outsoles. He also wears orange and white dog ears and a mask consisting of the same colours to cover his face. When transformed, the collar necklace becomes like it normally does when Miss Hound transforms.
As Argos[]
Argos has a blue jumpsuit with light blue lines running down each of his sides with a peacock-feather design (with dark blue feathers with light blue centers) with a turtle neck that has a peacock-feather-shapped zipper that is dark blue with a light blue center. Over it, he has a tailcoat of the same color and a pale yellow inside with three dark blue straps with light blue buttons around each side of his torso, similar straps around his wrists, a five-pointed tail that resembles a peacock tail with the design of a dark blue peacock feather with a light blue center on each point and a hood that has two feather-like shaped straps with light blue buttons, on on each side, and adorned with real peacock feathers. He uses dark blue gloves and blue high boots with a dark blue strap with a light blue button on each one. His skin is pale indigo and his eyes have light magenta irises and vivid violet sclera. He also has light green hair and wears the Peacock Miraculous in the center of his jumpsuit.
Personality[]
Similar to Gabriel, Félix changed when his father passed away, meaning he wasn't always mischievous. This is later showed in "Representation" to have been because of the control his father had on him due to the amok placed on his ring. As Colt would abuse his control over his son due to the deep hate he had on him for considering him the reason why his life force was being drained slowly, Félix was always perceived as being an obedient son that would do what his father wanted. After Colt's death and Félix inheriting his ring (the object that contained his amok), the latter was able to obtain his own freedom and be who he really was.
Despite both being identical in appearance as much their respective mothers were between each other, Félix was the complete opposite of his twin cousin in terms of personality. This is due to the fact that both were shaped by very different emotions. Unlike Adrien who is kind and gentle, Félix was rude, sneaky, and according to Ladybug, very pushy, especially when it came to getting what he desired, even being willing to negotiate with Hawk Moth and put others in danger. Adrien, as Cat Noir, said to him, "I bet you don't have a lot of friends, acting the way you do", implying that, Félix didn't get along well with others because of his mischievousness. And yet, it could be that Felix wasn't mischievousness for the sake of it but out of fear of losing those he loved or close to because of his father and didn't want anyone else to suffer because of him.
Despite these negative traits, Félix is shown to genuinely care for his family. With the exception for his father and uncle, he has a deep affection for the rest of his family members, especially his mother, aunt and cousin. This is especially showed in his relationship with his mother, as he is willing to do anything to please her, including to steal the Graham de Vanily ring. Despite he doesn't like how Adrien is too much nice (something that causes him to tease him by pretending to be him and cause him some trouble), Félix does love his cousin and would do anything to make him happy, including to free him from the oppression of the latter's father.
By "Gabriel Agreste", he hasn't changed that much, but he is seen having a much heroic figure as he became determined to discover if Gabriel was Shadow Moth and threatened to expose him. In "Risk", it seemed that he became much more heroic, less villainous and somewhat rebellious. He was perceptive enough to convince Adrien to disobey his father for once. He was also very stubborn, as seen that upon seeing Adrien's message about his cousin telling him to stop (saying he was on his way), Félix disregarded and deleted the message, and continued his act. However, he was understandably horrified when he found that his aunt was in a comatose state and hidden in Gabriel's bunker.
Félix is perhaps best categorized by sneakiness, selfishness and a lack of culpability or concern for others as long as he got what he wanted. These traits became exacerbated when he became Flairmidable, and he explained to Ladybug that the newfound power she gave him made him feel invincible. His actions in offering an alliance with Shadow Moth in exchange for the twin rings and willingly giving out all but two active Miraculouses to his evil-intentioned uncle in exchange for the Peacock Miraculous indicated that he was not above nor had any hesitance or remorse in committing criminal acts or endangering innocent lives if it would advance his agenda.
In "Emotion", underneath all the coldness and selfishness, he harbors great hate and resentment towards everyone that uses their authority to repress the freedom of others, something that sterns from the very abuse he endured at his father's hands. This caused him to desire a world where everyone can be free and live as they want and goes to great lengths to do it, including betraying those who trusted him as he did with Ladybug in "Strikeback" or creating a sentimonster that allowed him to destroy anyone he wanted, using that to blackmail the heroes of Paris to give him their Miraculous. However, despite his pure intentions of creating a free world, he did not perceive that, by using his powers vengefully, he acted like those he hated, something that Ladybug pointed out when she compared him to Monarch in doing what they thought was right, but causing much more trouble than needed.
His vision of a world without oppressors also includes the ones he cares about and sympathizes with, as he spares Adrien and Kagami, seeing them as equals who also experienced the same pain as him. He is even willing to spare the ones they care about or that he considered to be worthy of his envisioned world, like Marinette Dupain-Cheng, the girl Adrien loves and Kagami's best friend who was able to prove herself worthy by showing how much she cared for Adrien, even being willing to crash an exclusive event like the Diamond's Dance. After seeing how upset Adrien and Kagami were by his actions and how he couldn't find Marinette, believing he accidentally erased her and was unable to bring her back, unlike everyone he hates, he started to realize the error of his ways and bring everyone else back. His hatred towards oppressors also blinded him as Félix didn't understand the difference between an oppressor and authoritative figures such as with Ladybug and by letting him see the error of his ways Argos begins to understand why the world needs such figures and why Miraculouses can't be used so selfishly.
However, even if he saw the flaws of it, he still stood by the virtues of his vision as he later separated Kagami from her mother as he didn't like seeing her being controlled and protected her despite her rejection of his help, even breaking his own weapon to prevent her akumatized mother from finding her which shows he can be selfless towards those he cares about. Also, according to Kagami, her getting spied on and kidnapped by Félix as Argos just so he could to talk to her and due to him being excluded made her believe he lacks social skills.
Unlike the recent Peacock Miraculous holders before him, he cares very deeply for the sentimonsters that are created by its power, including his, as he felt sorry for Strikeback and its clones when Ladybug and her team sent them to the sun, and when he realized the error of creating the Red Moon to satisfy his selfish desires, caused him to act like his predecessors leading him to free it from reality in great grief.
During "Pretension", his escapade in "Emotion" left him deeply scarred and yet with the better understanding he needed, viewing the sentimonsters as more than just creatures that can do their creator's bidding, as it is the creator's duty to care for and guide them as he refused to create them just so their lives could be taken in the end.
And yet, he acted somewhat similar to Chloé as both were scarred by the pain of the past and by letting it stir them in the present which led to actions in the future that caused nothing but trouble for everyone else. With Félix's intense hatred of being excluded it could imply that maybe he was like that his whole life unaware he did the same to Ladybug and Cat Noir, like he was waiting for someone to give him the power he craved but didn't, as opposed to Chloé who lived her life in power but she wrongfully thought she had what she deserved taken from her otherwise.
As of "Representation", Félix changed dramatically. He shed his villainous personality, becoming as kind and caring as his cousin. He helped Kagami escape her mother, and when Kagami told him Ladybug’s secret identity, Félix was skeptical that such a naïve girl could be a superheroine with whom he had a very complicated relationship, but accepted the truth. Félix was also very sympathetic towards Marinette as she was in a vulnerable state. He felt back for her seeing her heart being broken from being separated from Adrien, but gently assured Duusu, his kwami, that they were only doing this so that everyone will have a happy ending, showing that, unlike his uncle or Nathalie, he is very kind and gentle towards Kwamis. Félix and Kagami bait Marinette to the school, where Félix reveals his tragic past, along with Gabriel revealed to be Monarch. With this information, Marinette was able to defeat Monarch once and for all in "Re-creation".
Powers and abilities[]
As a civilian[]
Félix can dunk a basketball into a basket just by moving his arm while standing with the basket behind him, and he takes karate lessons, knows how to effectively play chess and card games. "Multiplication" reveals he's also the youngest person to graduate from high school in England.
As Flairmidable[]
As Flairmidable, Félix has enchanted strength, speed, and durability. He can use the Dog Miraculous's special superpower, Fetch, to summon an object he's tagged with his ball from any distance.
As Argos[]
Argos has enhanced physical characteristics: speed, strength, and agility. He showed considerable hand-to-hand combat skills against more experienced combatants.
Argos is able to infuse a feather plucked from his hand fan with his power, transforming it into an amok, and send it out to possess an object owned by a chosen target, with whom he can communicate telepathically. While he is communicating, a blue curved peacock mask appears in front of him and his target's faces. His actions will then give an emotion from his target a physical form of that person's choosing, which would act as the target's ally until recalled via a snap of his fingers, which will release it from existence.
Biography[]
Past[]
Before the events of the series, after repeatedly trying and failing to have a child with for his wife, the British aristocrat Lady Amelie Graham de Vanily, the American billionaire Colt Fathom made a deal with Gabriel Agreste in order to have a child like he and his sister-in-law Emilie did: in exchange for one of his most powerful bodyguards to protect his son, Gabriel would hand over the Peacock Miraculous, which would allow Colt to bring his dream to life and control it. Despite his revulsion to sorcery, Colt accepted the deal, and used the Peacock Miraculous' power of Amokization to place an amok inside his ring. From his jealousy towards Gabriel and Amelie, Colt created a child, whom he and Amelie named Félix. However, shortly after Félix was born, Colt fell mysteriously ill; the result of using the broken Peacock Miraculous, which also began to affect Emilie.
Believing he was being punished for his use of sorcery, Colt grew to despise Félix for indirectly causing his sickness. Colt would regularly abuse Félix throughout his childhood, calling him "Monster" and forcing him to obey every command he gave. Félix remained unable to understand why his father didn't love him, or why he felt obligated to obey him, even when his father separated him from anyone he didn't approve of. During this time, he did well at school, eventually becoming the youngest student to graduate high school in England. He also became close with his cousin Adrien during their childhood, using their identical appearances to play tricks on their parents.
Gradually, Félix began to understand that his life was somehow tied to his father's ring. As his father was on his deathbed, Félix took the ring for himself; thus, gaining his freedom. As a result of his father's abuse, Félix became obsessed with securing his own freedom, and realized that the same power that gave him life could also be used to take it away. Thus, he became fixated on taking the Peacock Miraculous from Gabriel to obtain the one thing that could still control him. At the same time, he also began planning to free Adrien from Gabriel, as he began to view the latter as being just as strict and controlling as his late father was.
Season 3[]
In "Félix," Félix comes to the Agreste mansion from London with his mother Amelie to see his cousin Adrien and his uncle Gabriel on the anniversary of Adrien's mother Emilie's disappearance. After they reacquaint with each other, Gabriel orders Adrien to take Félix to his room. Once there, Adrien apologizes for not coming to his father's funeral, saying that Gabriel thought it would be too painful for him given what happened to his mother before. Félix asks if he always does what his father tells him to, with Adrien answering that Gabriel is very protective of him. Félix then hugs Adrien, covertly pickpocketing his phone. Claiming to need a shower, he leaves for the bathroom, where he breaks into Adrien's phone, viewing evidence of his crush on Ladybug, and the video messages his friends had sent to cheer him up. Annoyed, he mocks all of Adrien's friends and deletes the videos from his phone.
He then asks Adrien for some of his clothes to wear and uses them to impersonate his cousin. In his disguise, he responds to the video messages, cruelly disregarding Adrien's friends, thus making them (with the exception of Marinette and Nino) question their friendship with him. Lila Rossi shares "Adrien's" response to Nathalie Sancouer and Gabriel, which the latter deduces to be the work of his nephew, deciding that it could help him get rid of his unwanted guests. Transforming into Hawk Moth, he akumatizes Alya Césaire, Rose Lavillant and Juleka Couffaine into Lady Wifi, Princess Fragrance and Reflekta as The Punishers Trio in order to get revenge on "Adrien". Lady Wifi transports herself, Princess Fragrance, and Reflekta into Adrien's room via his phone, discovering both Adrien and Félix there, realizing that one is an impostor. Adrien tricks the Punishers into believing he is Félix by blaming him as the culprit which they assume the real Adrien wouldn't do and runs off to transform into Cat Noir.
Before the Punishers can give chase, Hawk Moth informs them who the real Félix is. Knowing he has been exposed, Félix drops his act and confronts the villains using his karate skills, dodging their attacks and fending them off. Ladybug arrives and pulls him away from danger, bringing him to the roof of Le Grand Paris. Alone with Ladybug, Félix confesses "his" crush on her, and attempts to force himself onto her; disgusted, Ladybug punches Félix away and declares that he isn't the real Adrien, as he would never be so pushy. Cat Noir arrives and confirms that Félix is Adrien's cousin, criticizing his behavior. The Punishers arrive and surround Ladybug, Cat Noir, and Félix, the latter managing to steal Lady Wifi's tablet. Ladybug encourages him to break it and release the akuma; however, Félix refuses and calls out Hawk Moth directly.
Speaking through the Punishers, Hawk Moth acknowledges Félix, who offers to help him steal Ladybug and Cat Noir's Miraculouses in exchange for the Graham de Vanily Twin Rings (not knowing that Hawk Moth himself possesses them). Hawk Moth instructs Félix to take the Miraculouses first, and he agrees, joining the Punishers in surrounding the heroes. Using her Lucky Charm object (an aerosol can), Ladybug defeats the Punishers by tripping up Lady Wifi, causing her to trip and redirect Princess Fragrance and Reflekta's attacks, while Cat Noir uses his staff to push Félix off the roof. Ladybug catches Félix and allows the tablet to smash on the ground, releasing the akuma for her to purify.
Later, back at the Agreste mansion, Adrien tells Félix that what he did to him was unforgivable, and Félix apologizes for his actions and promises to make it up to him, hugging Adrien and shaking Gabriel's hand. Before Félix leaves, Adrien tells him that if he feels upset or out of control, he should call him before he does something he'll regret. On the train back to London, Félix presents one of the Graham de Vanily Twin Rings to his mother, having stolen it from Gabriel when they shook hands. Amelie is delighted to see her son in possession of the ring and allows him to keep it, having wanted to see the rings returned to the family because of his curiosity toward them. Félix smirks as he looks out the window, while Gabriel, having realized what Félix did, bitterly takes Emilie's ring from her cryo-pod in his repository.
Season 4[]
In "Gabriel Agreste", Gabriel hosts a masquerade ball and invites Félix and Amelie to attend, intending to retrieve his ring. On the way to the party, Félix watches one of Alya's videos about the Miraculous and their capabilities in intrigue. Félix and Amelie arrive at the party, and he quickly notices his uncle's brooches resembling the Butterfly and Peacock Miraculouses, becoming suspicious. Chloé approaches Félix and mocks his previous attempt at impersonating Adrien; Félix tricks her again into thinking that he is the real Adrien, and taunts her for being foolish. Gabriel then takes his nephew aside and asks him why he stole his ring; Félix says that his mother wanted him to have it, and gives it back to Gabriel, claiming that he's made a copy for himself.
Gabriel accepts this, but returns to Nathalie's room and erupts into a rage, having immediately realized that Félix gave him a fake ring. From the hall, Félix overhears Gabriel's conversation and leaves when Adrien calls him to his room. To obtain the ring and prevent Félix from deducing his secret identity, Gabriel transforms into Shadow Moth and constructs a Sentimonster copy of himself to make Félix vulnerable to akumatization. Félix excuses himself from Adrien's room and sneaks into Gabriel's atelier, becoming pleased at his portrait of Emilie. The Sentimonster Gabriel approaches Félix and confronts him over the location of his real ring. Félix replies that it is in a "safe place" and accuses his uncle of being Shadow Moth; Sentimonster Gabriel denies this and threatens to destroy Félix's life with the snap of his fingers.
Panicked, Félix becomes vulnerable and is infected with an akuma. Shadow Moth offers him the power to escape the Sentimonster Gabriel and rebuffs Félix's accusations that he is Gabriel Agreste. Refusing to believe this, Félix rejects Shadow Moth's akumatization and flees as he does so, he tears the Sentimonster Gabriel's pants using a button from his shirt. Shadow Moth decides to akumatize his Sentimonster into The Collector and sends him after Félix to force him to reveal the location of the ring. Félix runs outside of the mansion to evade Collector, and is saved by Ladybug and Cat Noir; Cat Noir inquires why Collector is after him, and Félix claims ignorance.
Félix stands by as Ladybug and Cat Noir defeat Collector and returns to the mansion once everything has been restored to normal. While he and his mother are leaving, he notices that Gabriel who destroyed his Sentimonster once it was no longer of use no longer has a tear on his pants, reaffirming his suspicions about his uncle. Sometime later, Gabriel plants replicas of the Butterfly and Peacock Miraculous in the safe behind Emilie's painting in anticipation of his nephew's return.
In "Risk", Félix learns of Gabriel's plan to send Adrien on a months long world tour for a photo shoot with Lila Rossi (actually a cover, as Gabriel's latest Akumatized villain had influenced the Parisians into taking dangerous risks, a herald of his endgame plan). As a result, he leaves London and infiltrates the Agreste mansion disguised as Adrien, revealing himself to his cousin when he returns home. Félix offers to help Adrien by taking his place and standing up to Gabriel for him; influenced by Risk, Adrien agrees to the plan and leaves the mansion. Using his disguise, Félix approaches Nathalie and covertly steals her tablet, leaving when Gabriel enters the room. He heads to Gabriel's atelier, utilizing some high-tech equipment to open his safe and pilfer the two fake Miraculouses, taking them as confirmation that his uncle is Shadow Moth.
In doing so, Félix accidentally accesses the repository below the Agreste mansion, where he discovers his aunt Emilie being preserved in a cryo-pod. Horrified, he quickly returns to the atelier and discards his equipment before Gabriel and Nathalie can discover him. Félix attempts to defy Gabriel by refusing to go on the trip surprising the latter with his determination—before Nathalie talks him down. Realizing that the swap was a mistake, Adrien texts Félix to get him to call the plan off; instead, he ignores the message, making Adrien realize that he has been tricked again. At the train station, Ladybug approaches Félix, believing him to be Adrien, and attempts to talk him out of leaving Paris; Félix insists that he has no choice, and boards the Startrain. Moments later, Adrien returns to the mansion and discovers one of Félix's devices, only to be distracted by the appearance of Strikeback.
In "Strikeback", still on the train, Nathalie and Lila reassure Félix about the trip, and he leaves for the bathroom. There, he takes out the fake Peacock Miraculous and tries to activate it using the information stored on Nathalie's tablet, only to realize that it is a fake and crush it in anger when the kwami, Duusu, doesn't appear. Later on, determining that she and her allies cannot defeat Strikeback while under Risk's influence, Ladybug decides to recruit the one person not affected by Risk's power, deducing this to be "Adrien". Unifying with the Horse and Rabbit Miraculouses, Ladybug becomes Pennybug and teleports herself to the Startrain, meeting with Félix and asking for his help. Pennybug retrieves the Dog Miraculous with her yo-yo, revealing to Félix that the yo-yo can summon the Miraculous within the Miracle Box, and grants it to him; Félix accepts, transforming into Flairmidable. Pennybug explains that the Dog Miraculous' power of Fetch allows him to summon any object that he has touched—eagerly, Flairmidable touches her yo-yo, before she explains that he must touch an object with his ball.
Using the Rabbit Miraculous' Burrow, Pennybug takes herself and Flairmidable into the past, arriving at the moment Shadow Moth akumatized Froggy into Risk. Under Pennybug's instruction, Flairmidable touches Froggy's akumatized object, his plushie, with the ball, and returns with her to the present day; finding that Strikeback and its clones have nearly destroyed Paris. Flairmidable uses his Fetch to summon the plushie, allowing Ladybug to de-akumatize Risk and remove his influence in Paris. Ladybug and Flairmidable stop to recharge their kwamis, where he voices his intentions to stand up to Gabriel and keep fighting by Ladybug's side, saying he feels unbeatable. Transforming again, Flairmidable regroups with Ladybug and the rest of her team, listening as Ladybug formulates a plan to defeat Strikeback unbeknownst to her, he manages to tag her yo-yo with his ball. Flairmidable immediately abandons Ladybug's plan and flees, expressing remorse for Strikeback's fate as it and its clones are dropped into the Sun by Pennybug to end its threat for good.
Afterward, Gabriel angrily returns to his mansion, upset over what he thought was his greatest plan to get the Ladybug and Black Cat Miraculous having failed when he was so close to victory, hoping that Ladybug would take a huge risk that would backfire on her, only to discover Flairmidable waiting for him. Flairmidable discloses his identity and demands to be given the real Peacock Miraculous, threatening to tell Adrien about Emilie if Gabriel refuses, while also offering to give him something much better in return all the Chinese Zodiac Miraculouses, and his wedding ring. Gabriel agrees to the deal and exchanges the Peacock Miraculous for his wedding ring. Flairmidable honors their deal and activates Fetch, taking Ladybug's yo-yo just as she realizes her mistake. Flairmidable hands it over to Gabriel, allowing him to steal all of the Chinese Zodiac Miraculous from the Miracle Box, cackling manically in triumph at having stripped Ladybug and Cat Noir of all of their allies in the French Miraculous superhero team now that their Miraculous and the Kwamis were in his possession. Flairmidable detransforms and renounces Barkk, turning the Dog Miraculous over to Gabriel, before leaving him alone with his prize. That night, as Hawk Moth, now the newly-dubbed "Monarch", broadcasts his victory to Paris, Félix is seen riding the Startrain home to London with the Peacock Miraculous.
Season 5[]
In "Multiplication", Ladybug and Cat Noir discuss how the latter was fooled into believing that Félix was Adrien and gave him the Dog Miraculous, which allowed him to steal all of the Chinese Zodiac Miraculouses and deliver them to Shadow Moth (now calling himself Monarch). Cat Noir determines that Félix and Monarch must know each other, and that they must find Félix and make him reveal where Monarch is hiding or who he is. Using their space powers, the heroes fly to Félix's home in London, where they meet Amelie; Amelie claims that Félix has not returned home since he left to visit Adrien in Paris, and Ladybug and Cat Noir decide to continue looking for clues to his whereabouts.
Returning home, Adrien reflects on how Félix manipulated him and decides to follow Marinette's advice about dealing with his father, which proves successful. Simultaneously, Marinette becomes increasingly distressed over how her love blinded her to Félix's deception and decides to give up her feelings for Adrien to avoid making another mistake. Weeks later, Amelie calls Félix out for teatime, revealing that he is merely in hiding. Félix activates the Peacock Miraculous and meets his kwami, Duusu; Duusu inquires if he is his new holder, with Félix insisting that he is much more than that.
In "Emotion", prior to the events of the episode, Félix began using the Peacock Miraculous, becoming the supervillain Argos. On the night of Gabriel and Tomoe Tsurugi's Diamonds Dance, he creates the Sentimonster Red Moon from his hatred and anger, which allows him to snap away anyone who is bathed in its light. Using this power, he covertly snaps Adrien away after a date with Marinette, and heads to the Diamonds Dance in his place; after noticing "Adrien"'s changed demeanor, Marinette becomes motivated to sneak into the dance and speak to him. Arriving at the dance, Félix greets Gabriel, Tomoe and Kagami, becoming shocked at the sight of the latter's ring. Amelie then bursts into the event, lambasting Gabriel for doing nothing to help her find Félix before being escorted out while he looks on, sadly.
Félix subsequently joins Kagami as the dance's king, and learns that Adrien and Marinette are dating. He inquires if Kagami is jealous of "his" and Marinette's relationship, Kagami replying that she still has feelings for him, but will resist them for Marinette's sake. As the dance begins, Félix dares Kagami to leave the party with him. Kagami considers his offer, but declines, not wanting to disappoint her mother; Felix says that this proves she isn't as free as she claims. Marinette approaches Félix as he and Kagami prepare to dance, telling him that she loves him. Félix keeps Marinette from leaving by dancing with her, to the disgust of Gabriel and the other partygoers.
When Marinette remarks that they are looking at her like she's a monster, Félix responds that the partygoers are really the monsters. Immediately, Marinette realizes Félix's deception and demands to know what he did to Adrien. Félix then transforms into Argos, releasing Red Moon from his sleeves. He informs the partygoers of Red Moon's abilities and that they are now at his mercy, snapping Chloé away as a demonstration. Argos grabs Marinette and yells at Gabriel when he stands up in defiance, announcing that he is going to put an end to his controlling behavior; snapping him away and the rest of the partygoers away. Argos tells the devastated Kagami that she is now free from her mother's control, and leaves with Marinette. Marinette demands to know where Adrien is, Agros replying that he is truly fond of his cousin and would never harm him.
He then leaves Marinette inside of a dumpster, asking her to stay put. As Red Moon grows over Paris, Argos rampages across the city, singing and snapping away anyone he comes across. Ladybug confronts Argos, and he announces his intentions to steal her and Cat Noir's Miraculous. Ladybug assumes that Argos is working for Monarch and begins to fight him, furious his previous betrayal. Argos replies that he works for no one, and only helped Monarch because it suited his own plans, explaining that he needed the Peacock Miraculous to steal the Ladybug and Cat Miraculouses. He explains that he plans to to wish for a world where nobody will be controlled and excluded like he was, and without people like Ladybug to decide who receives power and who doesn't.
Ladybug retorts that there will be a price to pay for his wish; Argos hesitates, but says that no price is too great for him. Still, Ladybug refuses to give up her Miraculous, remarking that Argos is no better than Monarch. In response, he declares that, if she doesn't cooperate, he will use Red Moon's power to transform the world, snapping away everyone until there is no one left. To avert this, Ladybug summons her Lucky Charm, which creates nothing. Argos takes this as a sign that nothing can stop him and continues threatening Ladybug. However, realizing how to beat Argos, Ladybug refuses, insisting that victory isn't always what they think it is, and resigns herself to her fate with letting Argos poof her away like everyone else. Frustrated, Argos snaps Ladybug and the rest of Paris away. He explores the empty city in delight, until Kagami appears and threatens him for taking away everyone she loves.
Argos raises his fingers and tells her that not everyone is gone, bringing Adrien back. He declares to the bewildered Adrien that he has done everything for him, creating a better world where nobody will be able to tell them what to do. Kagami attacks Argos in rage, while Adrien attempts to reason with his cousin to undo his actions. Argos expresses confusion, claiming the three of them now have everything they need to be happy. When Adrien replies that he can't be happy without his family and the girl he loves, Argos brings them to the dumpster where he left Marinette. To his surprise, he finds her gone, and attempts to bring her back. When he is unable to do so, he recoils in horror, apologizing. Adrien and Kagami accuse him of being unable to control his powers and order him to return everyone at once.
Remorseful and ashamed of himself and his actions being clouded by his anger, Argos agrees, admitting that he never wanted to hurt them, and snaps his fingers to undo his actions. At that moment, Ladybug returns to the alley where Argos had left her and transforms back into Marinette, reuniting with Adrien and Kagami. Argos watches the three embrace and heads to a rooftop, where he looks up to Red Moon. He acknowledges that he shouldn't have created it out of anger, and that it's power is too dangerous for him to use. He then asks Red Moon for forgiveness, referring to it as his "sister", and releases it from existence, breaking down crying. Later, Argos returns to London, where Amelie says that he was right about Gabriel, denouncing him and his associates as monsters. Argos detransforms and embraces his mother, telling her that not all of them are.
In "Pretension", Argos spies on Adrien and Kagami as they are headed to fencing class. As Kagami is driving away with Tomoe, he hops onto their car, Tatsu, and listens as Kagami attempt to convince her mother not to see her and Adrien as a couple. Angered by Tomoe's harsh criticism of her daughter's emotions, he slices the sun roof with his fan, crashing Tatsu and kidnapping Kagami. In response, Tomoe calls Gabriel to inform him that Argos has returned, and allows herself to be akumatized into Matagi Gozen with the Miraculous powers of Venom, Multitude, Voyage, and Sublimation in order to track him down and reclaim the Peacock Miraculous. Argos brings Kagami to the Eiffel Tower, where she attempts to attack him. He detransforms back into Félix and asks her to stop, insisting that he only wants to talk.
Félix admits that he hasn't been able to stop thinking about Kagami since they last met, and has followed her ever since, believing that they are the same. Kagami criticizes Félix for stalking and then kidnapping her, deeming him inept at social relations. Félix apologizes for his actions, but states that he couldn't allow Tomoe to talk to her in such a way. Having given herself a superhuman sense of smell using Sublimation, Matagi and her Multitude copies track Félix to the Eiffel Tower, followed by Ladybug and Cat Noir. Félix transforms again and escapes with Kagami, chased by Ladybug and Matagi Gozen. As they are hiding from Matagi, Kagami tells Argos that if he were to let her go, her mother would no longer pursue him. Argos replies that he isn't here to return Kagami to her mother, but to free her.
Kagami dismisses Argos' mission and tosses him aside, exposing herself to Matagi, who attempts to paralyze her with Venom. Argos saves Kagami and flees with her; Kagami expresses horror that her mother would pretend to save her only to attack her, and Argos responds that his own father was a thousand times worse. Prioritizing Kagami's safety over having to fight, Argos stops and snaps his fan into pieces, spreading the pieces in multiple directions in order to throw Matagi off his scent. Argos and Kagami retreat to the sewers, where the latter detransforms. Kagami inquires why Félix doesn't simply use his powers to create a Sentimonster to help them. Félix politely asks that she not call them monsters, saying that he refuses to create a being just to control, abuse and ultimately destroy it.
He elaborates, stating that anyone who creates someone has a duty to protect, love them, and help them discover themselves; and that depriving them of such is monstrous. Moved by his compassion, Kagami asks if Félix is talking about himself; he retorts that he is talking about the both of them. Ladybug and Cat Noir arrive and confront Félix, demanding that he hand over Kagami and the Peacock Miraculous. To Félix's surprise, Kagami stands up for him, saying that he doesn't know how to express himself, and that everyone is wrong about him, including herself. Matagi and her clones then appear and begin firing upon the heroes, who defend Kagami and Félix. To defeat Matagi, Ladybug decides to trust Félix, allowing him to transform and escape, distracting Matagi long enough for her, Cat Noir and Kagami to defeat and de-akumatize her.
Ladybug and Cat Noir remark on how they let Félix get away, hoping that they don't regret it. In response to her helping Ladybug and Cat Noir, and ruining her and Gabriel's plan, Tomoe deems Kagami a disappointment and demands her to give her the ring, bearing their family crest. Sometime later, Kagami and Félix secretly meet inside a movie theater. Félix hands Kagami the real ring, telling her that the one she gave her mother was actually a fake. He informs her that she is the last of the Tsurugis, not her mother, and that the rules of her family will be dictated by her. Pleased, Kagami holds hands with Félix.
In "Representation", prior to the events of the episode, Félix and Kagami had begun dating in secret. During this time, Félix informed Kagami that Gabriel is Monarch; in turn, Kagami revealed her suspicion that Marinette is Ladybug (being revealed to have suspected as much since the events of "Perfection"). After she and Adrien have been forced to move to London by their parents, Argos appears outside Kagami's window. The two reunite and run off together, returning to Paris. They go to the Eiffel Tower where the school's end of the year party is being held, observing Marinette from afar. Argos asks Kagami if she is sure Marinette is Ladybug; Kagami replies that there is no other explanation.
Argos is hesitant to trust Marinette, but Kagami says that she is her friend, and they they don't have a choice; as her mother and Gabriel Agreste will never allow them to be together, they require Ladybug's help to stop them. Argos agrees with Kagami and the two embrace. He then heads down to the party and detransforms, beginning to impersonate Adrien. Using this disguise, he lures Marinette away from the party, and back to the art room at the school. Duusu expresses sadness at Marinette's plight, but Félix encourages him by saying that they are only doing this to have a happy ending. Félix transforms back into Argos, and, from Kagami's desire, creates the projector-themed Sentimonster, Once Upon a Time. Once Upon a Time uses its power on Marinette in the art room, projecting a play starring Félix and Kagami.
Through their performance, the two explain Félix and Adrien's origins as Sentimonsters created by Colt Fathom and Emilie Agreste, as well the reasoning for Félix's obsession with freedom and why he betrayed Ladybug to Monarch. The play ends with Félix and Kagami telling Marinette that they require her help to defeat Monarch. Marinette wakes up from Once Upon a Time's influence to find its purified Amok, and decides that she'll help Félix. Back in London, Argos returns with Kagami, asking if Marinette is ready to face the father of the boy she loves. Kagami replies that nothing will stop her now, and the two share a kiss. Unbeknownst to him, his escape with Kagami causes her and Adrien to be locked in solitary confinement rooms by their parents, who prepare to initiate Operation Perfect Alliance.
In "Re-creation", after Gabriel uses the Ladybug and Cat Miraculouses to create a new world, sacrificing himself in the process, Félix attends a pool party at the Agreste mansion, seen alongside Kagami, and his mother Amelie is also there, indicating they've moved into the mansion so Adrien won't be alone as he'll still have family living with him in the Fathoms. Some time later, Marinette decides to allow her superhero allies to keep their Miraculouses on a full-time basis, Félix included. Argos is last seen joining Ladybug, Cat Noir and their allies in patrolling Paris, having now joined their team.
Season 6[]
At the start of "Revelator", Argos is with the rest of the team as, under Cat Noir and Ladybug's guidance, they attempt to unlock their adult Miraculous powers through sheer willpower. While some fail and need to recharge their Kwamis and transform again before resuming, everyone manages to successfully unlock their adult Miraculous powers and enable their ability to stay transformed indefinitely before manually reverting back by saying their power down catchphrase. To celebrate their accomplishment, Ladybug dubs the team, "The Miraculers", which they all agree on.
Trivia[]
- Before the creation of the series, Félix was originally conceived by Thomas Astruc as Marinette's love interest and the alter-ego of Cat Noir (as seen in the Ladybug PV), although he would eventually be dropped and replaced by Adrien because he came across as an "anime cliche" and his dynamic with Ladybug was deemed not convincing. Astruc would later consider bringing him back to the series, but eventually scrapped the idea and claimed that he would never appear. Regardless, he would eventually return, depicted as being Adrien's cousin with almost no resemblance to his original character.
- Despite being a radically different character, Félix's more negative traits from his original depiction seem to have carried over into his appearance in the series, given his hostility towards Adrien's friends and his attempt to force Ladybug to kiss him; similar to how, in the original concept, he was less friendly and openly dismissive of Marinette's affections, and wanted Ladybug to kiss him to remove his ring and the bad luck curse attached to it.
- Félix's name was inspired by the Latin meaning of the word, which is happy/lucky.
- His superhero identity, Flairmidable, is a portmanteau of the words "flair" and "formidable". It is so far the only Miraculous holder name that is not a reference to the animal his Miraculous represents.
- His supervillain identity, Argos, is a reference to the Greek mythological creature of the same name, a multi-eyed giant who had his eyes placed on a peacock's tail by Hera after his death.
- Prior to the events of "Representation", a popular fan theory suggested that both Félix and Adrien are Sentimonsters, which was ultimately proven true. This reveal was implied multiple times throughout the series:
- Félix receives a self-titled episode in his first appearance. Although he was initially believed to be the only character that is not a Miraculous holder, an Akumatized villain, or a Sentimonster to have this distinction, it can now be considered a subtle hint to Félix's true nature.
- Across multiple episodes, Félix shows both an understanding of and obsession with the Peacock Miraculous. When he finally receives it in "Strikeback", he is shown holding it affectionately.
- In "Gabriel Agreste", Sentimonster Gabriel threatens to destroy Félix with a snap of his fingers, a threat he takes quite seriously.
- Félix repeatedly shows a deep empathy for Sentimonsters, apologizing to Strikeback after it is dropped into the sun, and later referring to Red Moon as his sister; breaking down in tears when he is forced to destroy her. In "Pretension", he takes offense to Sentimonsters being called "monsters", and declares that he will not create a being just to control and abuse them.
- Although the theory about Félix and Adrien being Sentimonster was proven correct, it also assumed that both their Amoks were in the Graham de Vanily Twin Rings, because of Félix's interest in reclaiming them. This was proven not to be the case, as Félix's Amok was placed inside of his father's ring, and his only interest in gaining the Twin Rings was to free Adrien and gain leverage on Gabriel.
- Although not directly stated, it is implied that Félix's plan in his titular episode was to deliberately cause strife among Adrien's friends so that they would be akumatized and come after him; thus, he would be able to contact Hawk Moth and make a deal with him to acquire the Graham de Vanily Twin Rings.
- Félix is the second character in the series to know that Gabriel Agreste is Hawk Moth/Shadow Moth, the first being Nathalie Sancoeur.
- As shown in "Multiplication", Félix has his own "Wikipage" article (a reference to Wikipedia). The article in question contains several references to the Miraculous Ladybug Wiki; using the same header image for Félix that the Miraculous Wiki used when "Multiplication" was still in production, and featuring an identical family tree structure.
- Despite insisting that he doesn't work for Monarch, Argos' plan in "Emotion" ironically resembles that of many of Monarch's Akumatized villains; including The Bubbler (who wanted to remove all adults from the world so children could be free), Robostus (who wanted to use Ladybug and Cat Noir's Miraculous to wish away humanity), Syren (who wanted to create a perfect world for herself and Kim), and Safari (who also wanted to stop Gabriel's plans by remaking the world before he could).
