Andrew William "Andy" Barclay is the main protagonist of the first three films in the Child's Play series and Cult of Chucky and the main tritagonist of the unrated cut of Curse of Chucky, despite making a cameo. He is a young boy who, after receiving a Good Guy doll (who is actually Chucky) for his sixth birthday, is the prime suspect in a series of mysterious murders.
He is portrayed by Alex Vincent in the first two films, Curse of Chucky and Cult of Chucky, and Justin Whalin in the third.
Andy is an ordinary little boy who lives with his widowed mother Karen in Chicago. He is a huge fan of the "Good Guys" cartoon show and wants a "Good Guys" doll for his sixth birthday after watching a commercial for the dolls on TV. However, a "Good Guys" doll is too expensive that Karen cannot afford one with her current job, so she buys a "Good Guys Tool Chest" set instead. That afternoon, Karen goes out with her best friend Maggie Peterson, and they come across a street peddler who is a selling a Good Guys doll, at half the cost of a store-bought doll. They buy the doll, both unaware of it being inhabited by the spirit of the notorious serial killer Charles Lee Ray.
