The Akabane Swords Special Investigation Team are the supporting protagonists of Toji no Miko. It's a special mission unit assigned to investigate Akabane swords, rusted Okatana found inside the bodies of slain Aradama. It was formed under the supervision of the presidents of the Five Traditions during the chaos caused by the "Yukari Origami Attack Incident". After the End-of-the-Year Great Disaster, it was restructured into the Investigation Unit of the Origami Family's Special Sword Documents Research Division.
The Investigation Team's main objective is to find and retrieve Akabane swords, as well as Okatana outside of the Special Sword Administration Bureau's jurisdiction. Toji affiliated to the Investigation Team have special authorization to access top-secret documents that are normally off-limits to ordinary Toji.
